Universal Networks acquires 'Stargate Universe'

MUMBAI: Universal Networks International has acquired Stargate Universe (SGU) for the SCI FI Channel in Poland, Romania, the Balkans, Latin America, Benelux and in German-speaking Europe.

The deal, with MGM Worldwide Television Distribution, will see the series premiere on the SCI FI channel in Poland, Romania and Balkans on 21 January, 2010.

Stargate Universe debuted on Syfy in the US and also airs in Canada on Space, in the UK on Sky1 and in Australia on the SCI FI pay-TV platform.

Universal Networks International MD - central and eastern Europe Colin McLeod said, "We‘re thrilled to have secured the rights to premiere SGU exclusively on the SCI FI channel in Poland, Romania and the Balkans."
