• HGS makes major additions to its leadership team

    MUMBAI: Hinduja Global Solutions, a leading provider of business process outsourcing services, has made two significant additions to its senior management team of North America and one major addition to its global leadership team. This is in line with the organization?s aggressive growth targets and increased focus on the United States and Canada.

    Chris Lord joins as the Senior Vice President, Global Sales Strategy and Sales Operations. His primary responsibility is to ensure that all the geographical sales teams at HGS have the best and optimized sales support by leveraging HGS? global capabilities, best practices, assets, collaterals and IP. With over 25 years of IT and BPO services experience at the leadership level with such firms as Wipro, Accenture, EDS, and Xerox in India, Philippines, Europe, USA and Canada, Chris has proven transformational expertise in sales strategy and execution.

    Steve Sacks joins HGS as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development with a mandate to meet the aggressive revenue growth targets of HGS in the North American markets. He has over 20 years of sales experience in the BPO Industry with few of the leading names such as EDS, Accenture, Teleperformance, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Ernst & Young where he managed the domestic, nearshore and the offshore outsourcing business partnerships.

    Jaime Nunez joins as Senior Vice President, Operations and IT for HGS USA. With an overall experience of 25 years, he has recently served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer for a leading BPO provider, where he led the global transformation of the company?s core business resulting in Operational and IT excellence. Prior to that, he worked with the Citi Group as the Managing Director of Global Customer Service and Client Delivery for call centers across the US, South America, and Europe as well as Asia including China, The Philippines and India.

  • Reliance aims' 'direct your own film' seminar seeks to guide young minds for a career in film making/direction

    Mumbai, June 21, 2013: ?Direct Your Own Film? a seminar organised here by Reliance AIMS-Animation Infotainment & Media School, a Reliance Entertainment group company saw an overwhelming attendance at the one day event that had no entry fee. The seminar was held at Reliance AIMS, Andheri West centre. Popular Bollywood blockbusters were taken as reference point to enlighten the audience about the nuances of film direction. The section/talk on the technicalities involved in directing a movie turned out to be the highlight of this event. At the end of the day, the organizers of this seminar were largely successful in driving home the fact that a career in film direction will be a fruitful option.

    The Direct your Own Film Seminar comprised largely of 12th pass students, who got an opportunity to interact and learn from the who?s who of the industry that included Mr. Vikram Vetturi, Director of Krishna aur Kans and the popular animated TV series Shaktimaan. By envisioning the exciting world of Film making/direction, most of the students attending the event expressed their desire to pursue it as a profession.

  • CNN celebrates the power of girls in 'Girl rising' and 'A girl's world'

    MUMBAI: CNN International today announced a new slate of programming focused on the empowerment of young girls around the world with the premiere of critically-acclaimed film ?Girl Rising? and launch of ?A Girl?s World,? a distinctive new series chronicling the lives of seven girls in seven countries.

    ?Girl Rising?, filmed before the well-known girls? education campaigner Malala Yousafzai was shot by the Taliban on her way home from school in Pakistan?s Swat Valley, follows several girls across the globe as they pursue an education.   • Woods Entertainment and Omkaama productions in association with IDCA present "Jaipur Premier League season 2"

    MUMBAI: The state of Maharashtra is all geared up to witness the biggest and the grandest T20 domestic cricket in India for the very first time. After the stupendous success of Jaipur Premier League Season 1 held in Rajasthan last year, the cricket extravaganza returns this year with double the excitement. All prominent cricketers from Rajasthan will be seen in action in the Jaipur Premier League (JPL) Season 2 set to start from June 28, 2013 to July 7,2013.

    The six franchises have doled out more than Rs. 25 lakhs each to hire 12 cricketers in each team. The six teams in fray are Shree Tirupati Tigers, Lake City Panthers, Mewar Mustangs, Omkaama Lions, The Live Kangaroos and Balaji Rhinos. Every team has bid for the best players from a pool of 90 state players made available from RCA (Rajasthan Cricket Association). Prominent cricketers like Ashok Menaria (Rajasthan Royals fame U19 captain); Vineet Saxena, Rohit Jhalani and Rashmi Ranjan Parida (Ranji Stars of Rajasthan); Dishant Yagnik (Rajasthan Royals fame) and Pankaj Singh (Rajasthan Royals fame & India Test Series Player) will be some of the key players of the tournament. 15 league matches, 2 semi-finals and 1 mega final are scheduled to be held at Sinhagad Ground, Pune.

    The star-cast of upcoming Bollywood film "Shortcut Romeo" - Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel were present for the JPL Season 2 launch event to add the glam factor to the tournament as well as promote their film on the same platform.

    News Nation, the latest national Hindi news channel on the block, has appointed Abhay Ojha as Senior Vice-President and National Head of Sales and Marketing. His portfolio also includes media research and media operations. Ojha will be based in Delhi and report to Shailesh Kumar, CEO, News Nation.

    In a career spanning 15 years, Ojha has headed the sales function in both National and Regional channels. Prior to joining News Nation, he was VP ? Sales with TV9 Group run by Hyderabad-based Associated Broadcasting Company (ABCL) where he spent close to one and a half years.

    Ojha started his career with TV Today Network in February 1999 where he spent more than eight years and rose to become Senior Manager ? Ad Sales. He moved to IBN7 in 2007 and spent four years as AVP handling sales functions for IBN7. After working with National channels for over 12 years, Ojha moved to the regional space as National Sales Head at RBNL?s Big Magic, from where he went to TV9.
