  • Nach Baliye Finale creates waves globally

    Mumbai : Star Plus wrapped up yet another successful season of its highly popular non fiction show - Nach Baliye. The show in its 6th season had an extremely successful run ever since its launch with a 4.1 tvr. There was much hype and anticipation around the 3.5 hour Grand Finale which aired on the weekend. While the ratings for the finale are yet to come out, but the hype generated around the show in the digital world was unprecedented. The show started trending on Twitter much before the telecast of the show and reached no.1 on Twitter in India. It continued to stay on top for the entire day and through the night. But the truly phenomenal achievement was that the show reached the no.1 spot on Twitter worldwide. According to the twitter tracking tool, as viewers from all over the world joined in the conversation, the hashtag #NachFinale generated over a 100 million impressions worldwide.

    Speaking on this spokesperson, Nikhil Madhok, Vice-President Marketing, Star India said ‘ Not only has the show generated big ratings on TV, it has also been a huge success on digital. The show has generated more than a billion impressions on digital since its launch. We received a massive 1.5 crore votes from the audience through the series, showcasing the extent of engagement the show generated. We are delighted that it ended by trending worldwide at no.1‘

    The grand finale, featured spectacular performances by Shilpa Shetty, Terence Lewis, Tamanaah Bhatia, host Karan Wahi and all the participating celebrity couples. It culminated with Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij winning the much coveted title.

    Star Plus has announced the launch of Nach Baliye - Shrimaan vs Shrimati as an extension of the popular format. The show will air from 6th April, every Sat- Sun at 9pm.

  • F1 Swings into Asia with the Malaysian Grand Prix this Weekend

    MUMBAI: The Formula 1 action moves on to Malaysia this weekend after a fascinating season-opener in Melbourne. Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen pulled off a remarkable victory at the Australian GP last week, employing a two pit stop strategy. He will be hoping to create an early gap at the top of the standings if he can claim back-to-back victories.

    Red Bull driver Vettel finished third in Melbourne and will be one of the favourites at Sepang having won there in 2010 and 2011. Ferrari?s Fernando Alonso finished 12.4 seconds behind Raikkonen in second place at the F1 ROLEX Australian GP and will also be looking forward to Malaysia after taking the chequered flag last year.     Sahara Force India?s team started the 2013 F1 season on a positive note with the pair of Adrian Sutil and Paul di Resta recording a rare double points finish.     New Delhi: This year, as India joins billions of people across the globe to observe the Earth Hour to combat the threats of global warming, Discovery Channel pledges to support the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) campaign.     Mughal-E-Azam; one of the greatest celluloid love lore of all time, which immortalized the epic characters of Anarkali and Salim has been in the center stage of constant media speculations mainly for its magnificence in making and the much guarded love affair between the lead pair - Dilip Kumar and Madhubala. Though their affair was an open secret within the film fraternity, the clandestine relationship shared by them has always been shielded and respected.

    Bollywood@100, HISTORY TV18?s tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema, dedicates a special episode to Mughal-E-Azam, to bring in front some of the never known facts about the celebrated movie. In a special segment Raza Murad and Madhubala?s sister reveal some of the unheard facts about the life and love of these two iconic stars.

    The half-hour tribute brings out some interesting behind-the-scenes facts of the magnum opus. Like the fact that the filming of this epic took nearly a decade, and it was reported that their six year long relationship ended before the completion. The movie that is known for its intimate depictions obviously had born the consequence of a rough breakup between its lead pair. Post their separation, much of the romantic scenes was shot under much apprehension. Actor Raza Murad, whose uncle was the writer of the epic film, reveals that there was a time when Dilip-Madhubala were not on talking terms and there was a scene where he had to slap her. Dilip Kumar slapped Madhubala so hard that she was stunned and left the set immediately.
