  • Paan Singh Tomar screening in 310 UFO screens; up from 137

    MUMBAI: Going by the response, Tigmanshu Dhulia?s Paan Singh Tomar is now being screened in 310 UFO digital screens up from 137 theatres last week.

    Meanwhile, Sujoy Ghosh?s Kahaani, that debuted last week is screening in 307 UFO digital theatres while the Tusshar Kapoor-starrer Chaar Din Ki Chandni is being screened in 142 UFO digital theatres in its second week. UTV and Tips Industries? Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, that released on 24 February is screening in 98 UFO digital theatres.

    An important highlight here is that Paan Singh Tomar a 100 per cent digital release is screening in more cinemas in its third week (310 versus 137in the first and second week respectively), a sterling example of the success of the digital platform.

    Jaanleva Rafta?, a dubbed Hindi film is being screened in 90 UFO digital theatres in its debut week.

    In the non-Hindi segment, the Tamil film Maasi debuted in 101 UFO digital theatres while the Telugu film Nuvva Neena, also debuting this week, is being screened in 63 UFO digital theatres.

    Telegu film Poola Rangadu that released on 18 February is screening in 96 UFO digital theatres while Bhojpuri film Durga is screening in 68 UFO digital theatres and Bengali film Macho Mustanaa, in its second week, is screening in 60 UFO digital theatres.

    MUMBAI: Cartoon Network?s alien-morphing boy hero, Ben 10, is set to star in his first CGI (Computer Generated Imagery)animated television movie: Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens. Slated for premiere on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 12pm on Cartoon Network, the movie is being directed by Victor Cook (The Spectacular Spider-Man, Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated,) and executive produced by Silas Hickey, Creative Director for Animation, Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific, Inc. Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens is written by Marty Isenberg and features the original voice actors from the Ben 10 animated series.

    Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens turns the clock back to 10-year-old Ben Tennyson, struggling with teachers, detention, school bullies and the dreadful fate of missing out on his weekend fishing trip with Grandpa Max, when grounded by his parents. Desperate times call for desperate measures as Ben jumps at the chance to escape from it all at the Total Alien Immersion training program on the far side of the galaxy. Little does Ben realize the irreversible consequences of the program which sends him crashing back to earth stuck in his alien forms battling an all-new evil alien, Mechamorph Warrior.

    MUMBAI: It began as a backyard game with friends gunning and chasing each other but no one had ever imagined that life would turn this into reality! In an endeavor to comprehend the psyche of teenagers and understand the stress and pressures of modern life on them, Channel [v], the leading youth entertainment channel, brings to you "Gumrah - End of innocence", a shocking tale of some of the most heinous crimes committed around the country by the innocent driven to a moment of insanity.

    ?Gumrah? is a one hour show that depicts crimes committed by youngsters and the larger issue or factors that lead to such impulsive actions. With a gripping narration and plot of shocking crimes like murder, robbery, drug and sexual abuse, each episode will be reenacted and recreated with tales of people closely associated with the accused including their family and friends. Each exclusive episode features experts and psychologists providing an in-depth analysis of what could have possibly been the reason behind these actions and how it shaped the minds of these young criminals. The show is divided into 13 invigorating episodes and will be hosted by young and dynamic Karan Kundra, of "Kitani Mohabbat Hain" fame.

  • Caf? Coffee Day, Proline to leverage CCD Facebook fan base to retail coffee themed t-Shirts

    BANGALORE: Caf? Coffee Day (CCD) and Indian t-shirt major Proline introduced a new line of themed t-shirts which will be sold through the 1250 plus CCD outlets in the country and a few of the major Coffee Express outlets. Both the brands are betting big on the online and digital mediums for growth. The brands plan to leverage CCD?s 2 million plus Facebook fan page, CCD?s e-commerce platform and its outlets to sell the tees?.

    The tees? will be sold at the outlets using the catalog method will deliveries being done within a week of order. Said Coffee Day President-New Business Initiatives, Vejay Anand, ?As a youth brand our endeavor has not only been to provide a great caf? experience, but also introduce new products that is as per the interests and aspirations of the youth. The introduction of these smart and trendy coffee t-shirts is an extension of our brand?s youth philosophy."

    ?Even if we manage to sell one t-shirt per outlet per month, we are talking in terms of 1250 plus tees? per month. I?d like that to average one t-shirt per day per outlet, or about 35,000 plus t-shirts a month,? said Proline CEO Sandeep Mukim.

    The initial launch comprises of a range of 17 tees ? 7 for women and 10 for men in four sizes. The tee?s have been given whacky names such as Bean Art, Latte Art, Stain Art, Vapour Art, Coffee & Attitude, etc. CCD and Proline plan to launch a new range every two months, as opposed to the two launches per year for most apparel brands.

    The Rs. 650 million revenue brand Proline is looking to double its revenues to Rs.1.3 billion next fiscal. It has categorized is product portfolio to target three segments of consumers ?Proline Varsity, Proline Active and Proline Original. Additional opportunities like mass customization, as in the case with CCD is the next level. Mukim plans to go even further up to personalization in some time to achieve faster growth.

    Besides the CCD outlets, cobranded tees will also be sold through the existing 22 Proline stores and Proline?s twenty distributors that service around 700 multi-brand stores in the country. Mukim says that his company plans to add ten more Proline stores over the next fiscal.

    Creatives are done in-house in the case of CCD. Proline is in talks with a British agency for its creative work and store design. It has yet to appoint a media buying agency.
