  • B4U Music pays tribute to Kaifi Azmi and Shakti Samanta

    MUMBAI: In its regular endeavour to pay homage to well-known film personalities, B4U Music will pay homage to noted lyricist Kaifi Azmi and reputed filmmaker Shakti Azmi in their programme ‘Awaz De Kahan Hai‘ this weekend.

    While the Shakti Samanta special will be aired today from 7 am to 8 am, 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm and 9 pm to 12am, the tribute to Kaifi Azmi will be aired from 9 pm to 12 am tomorrow.

    As a lyricist and songwriter, Azmi is for his work of Guru Dutt‘s Kaagaz Ke Phool (1959) and Chetan Anand‘s Haqeeqat (1964). Other notables films for which Azmi wrote lyrics include Kohra, Anupama, Uski Kahani, Saat Hindustani, Shola Aur Shabnam, Parwana, Bawarchi, Pakeezah, Hanste Zakhm, Arth and Razia Sultan. Besides, in his only acting assignment, Azmi played a memorable role of Naseem‘s grandfather in Naseem (1995).

    On the other hand, Shakti Samanta has produced and directed some memorable films like Aradhana , An Evening In Paris, Kashmir Ki Kali, Howrah Bridge, China Town, Kati Patang and Amar Prem among others.

    Earlier, B4U Music has paid tribute to the likes of Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, R.D. Burman besides coming out with specials of Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna respectively.

    Awaaz De Kahan Hai airs daily between 7 and 8 pm.

    MUMBAI: What happens when three of the country?s finest comedians get together to pick an annoying habit of the opposite sex? A viral storm ? with over 5 lakh people sharing their grief on the subject.

    The endless tirades of complains between the sexes is as old as time immortal. A new flame has been ignited to further fuel the fire with the men questioning, contemplating, wondering about why Women Take Forever?

    The phenomenon started when Comedian Varun Thakur while waiting for his friend tweeted that he is sick of waiting and that #Women Take Forever. He took this further with another tweet predicting that he could ‘reach from Andheri East to Andheri West #beforewomengetready‘

    This kicked up a storm???

    In less than 45 minutes prominent Twitter users from all over India had picked it up and were tweeting about it.

    There were over 40 tweets a second for 30 minutes on Twitter as the trend overtook India. Over 5 L people on Twitter in India were reached with the trend.

    The result was also that the topic trended globally on Twitter for around 11 minutes as well.

  • Hungama designs augmented reality campaign for Mahindra

    MUMBAI: Hungama Digital Media has launched an augmented reality (AR) campaign for Mahindra XUV500 at Auto Expo 2012, which is being held in Delhi.

    Those attending Auto Expo got to experience augmented reality first hand, where they could virtually experience cheetah by their side. By standing out on the floor, a big screen over the XUV shows a cheetah walking in and standing next to the visitor. It shows the visitor with the car and the cheetah with a watermark on the image - Me with the cheetah! - XUV500. With such exceptional visuals, the consumers are left spellbound surrounded by the raw beauty of the cheetah on the mechanical lines of the cars, the company said.

    Additionally, Hungama has created a website and WAP site for Mahindra which allows users to feel like they are at the Auto Expo. The homepage shows layout of the Mahindra stall as it is on ground. The website also has links to Social Media destinations of various brands, shares functionality and an inquiry form. Also, Ipad applications, digital brochures, cut out applications are also created by Hungama.

    Since Auto Expo 2012?s focus this year is on green technologies and environment, Mahindra wanted to make the activity as green as possible along.
