  • Ormax Media releases research report on Prime Time Remote Control Dynamics

    Mumbai: Ormax Media has released a report on understanding the remote control dynamics in single TV households in India, called ?And The Remote Goes To??

    This large scale syndicated study was conducted across 7 cities and 5547 respondents. The cities covered were: Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Indore, Lucknow, Jalandhar and Hyderabad, among regular prime time television viewers.

    The study aims to answer the question that obssesses the television industry: "Who controls the remote at different times?" The report captures the gender and the age profiling of the remote in- charge for different one-hour slots, from 7pm to 11pm, on both weekdays and weekends. It also captures the differences in the profile of the remote in-charge by markets, SEC and family size.

    Speaking about the study, Shailesh Kapoor, CEO - Ormax Media said: "One of the limitations of television ratings is that they don?t tell us who the decision maker is. All marketing is about talking to decision makers and influencers, not the atual consumers. In television, this reality is even more pertinent, given the nature of TV viewing in India - single TV households where the entire family watches TV together. In such a scenario, whom should you be talking to. A man or a woman or both? The youth, the newly married, the middle aged, the older or all? What is the best time and day to attract each of these segments? This study answers several such relevant but under-rated questions."

    The report is available to broadcasters, media agencies and advertisers for a one-time subscription cost of Rs. 40,000. Kapoor said: "This study was done to share useful data across the industry. Hence, we have priced it in a way that the entire television and media fraternity, including the smaller channels and advertisers, can use it for better understanding of their audiences."

  • Nike to salute Bhaichung Bhutia in his farewell match

    Mumbai: Nike the official apparel sponsor of the Indian Football team, as a special gesture to Bhaichung Bhutia?s contribution to Indian Football has designed a commemorative badge on the Indian football jersey. The Indian National Football team will be seen sporting this special jersey for Bhaichung?s farewell match against Bayern Munich on January 10, 2012.

    Nike has designed this first of a kind badge on the Indian football jersey inspired by Bhaichung Bhutia and his immense contribution to the game. The tribute badge will be on an orange base with white lettering with Bhaichung?s name and number along with ?The start of a legacy? as Bhaichung embarks upon a next phase.

    ?We believe that it would be a great tribute to wear the name and number of an athlete of the stature of Bhaichung in the form of a specially designed badge for his farewell match. We are extremely proud to do this for Bhaichung.? said Rakesh Masih, Nike Athlete and team member of the Indian football team.

    Slated to be "Bhaichung Bhutia Farewall Match", the game between India and Bayern Munich is scheduled to take place on January 10th, 2012 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

    Nike has created a special video for Bhaichung Bhutia that can be accessed on Nike?s Football facebook page. Fur her, football fans can post their messages for Bhaichung?s on Nike?s football page. Eleven fans with the best messages will be rewarded with a special edition commemorative Bhaichung Bhutia autographed Nike jersey.

    Indian football captain Bhaichung Bhutia announced his retirement from international football in August 2011. The 34-year old striker had an extraordinary career with the Indian national football team and is rated as one of the best footballers the country has ever seen.

  • Volkswagen reinforces its Think Blue initiatives during Auto Expo 2012

    MUMBAI: Taking the theme of Think Blue. Drive Blue. campaign to the next level Volkswagen, Europe?s leading car manufacturer and BBC Topgear magazine encourages visitors at the Auto Expo in New Delhi to support a greener environment by distributing seeds.

    This initiative has been launched today in association with BBC Top Gear Magazine.

    Seeds will be handed over to visitors along with contests on various social media platforms specifically designed to highlight and promote a greener environment.

    MUMBAI: ETC BOLLYWOOD BUSINESS AWARDS enters into its second year to applaud the dream merchants who minted highest amount of monies for Bollywood in the year 2011. India?s first Bollywood channel ETC is all set to unveil the second ETC BOLLYWOOD BUSINESS AWARDS on 9th January, 2012 at 8:30 PM.

    Of the approximate 120 films released this year 5 films (Ready, Bodyguard, Singham, RA.One and Don2) saw domestic box office collections of more than INR 100 crores each; while some more, most notably The Dirty Picture (INR 80 cr), Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (INR 92 cr) and Rockstar (INR 67 cr) came close. This year also included quite a few hits and successes that have raked in the moolah. Bollywood collected a total of INR 1740 crores from the Indian BO.     With domestic BO collections of 2 hundred crores plus movies under her belt, Kareena Kapoor emerged as the unquestionable money spinner female actor this year. It feels great that my long cherished dream has been applauded by the viewers and moreover acknowledged by ETC Bollywood Business Awards; which gives its verdict only on the basis of Box Office collections. These two awards are a reply to all the naysayers who tried to discredit my film. Allah has been very kind to me and helped me to entertain my audiences and it is quite literally my audience?s love that has fetched me these awards. Inshallah! I?ll continue to entertain my audiences and make it to this award in years to come."
