The energetic and health conscious Chamki joined kids in Delhi for a special screening of the first quarter final of the tournament between the five time champion Brasil and the ever stylish Netherlands at The O Experience in New Delhi today.

The evening saw Delhi celebs with their kids enjoying the screening along with Chamki. Present at occasion were Monisha Bajaj and Anil Lepps, Jattin Kochhar with his family, Priti S. Kapoor with her kids, Taniya Khanuja with her son, Sonalika Sahay with her family, Charu Parashar with her family, Shibani Kashyap with her niece and Hemant and Nandita.

The special screening initiative was a part of Galli Galli Sim Sim‘s efforts in helping spread the importance of health and fitness. There is a critical need to foster healthy habits in young children in India. While on the one hand, a large cross section of the population lacks basic healthcare. On the other hand, rapid economic growth and liberalization has resulted in changes in the quality of food availability, adding the burden of childhood obesity. 8.5% and 29% children between the ages of 6 to 18 years are overweight in urban areas, with higher prevalence among children from high socioeconomic classes. Various studies from middle and upper middle class schools in metropolitan cities find a third of all children overweight.

With over 128 million preschool-age children in India, it is imperative to foster good nutrition and health habits in the early years, which will lead to lifelong healthy behaviors. The lovable and popular muppet, Chamki from Galli Galli Sim Sim is a great role model for children to inculcate healthy habits. The Galli Galli Sim Sim television show that airs on three of India‘s leading television channels: daily on POGO and Cartoon Network and weekly on Doordarshan, the terrestrial broadcaster reaches over 11 million children every year. The affable and much loved muppet sent out the message of staying fit by encouraging kids to exercise and play sports for at least an hour everyday.

  • iVdopia Selected as a Red Herring Top 100 North America Tech Startup

Submitted by ITV Production on Jul 03, 2010

MUMBAI: iVdopia (www.ivdopia.com), the largest video and rich media mobile advertising network, has won the prestigious Red Herring Top 100 North America Award, which recognizes the year?s most promising private technology ventures from the North American business region.

Red Herring?s Top 100 North America list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Skype, Salesforce.com, YouTube, and eBay would change the way we live and work.

?Choosing the companies with the strongest potential was by no means a small feat,? said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. ?After rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across North America to the Top 100 Winners. We believe iVdopia embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. iVdopia should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.?

?This is a great honor for iVdopia, which was chosen from a pool of so many worthy candidates,? said Chhavi Upadhyay, Chief Operating Officer of iVdopia. ?Though this award is an acknowledgement of the innovation that has become synonymous with iVdopia, we would like to think of this recognition as a vote of confidence for the new breakthroughs that you can expect from us.?

Red Herring?s editorial staff evaluated the companies on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, technology innovation, management quality, strategy, and market penetration. This assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the track record and standing of startups relative to their sector peers, allowing Red Herring to see past the ?buzz? and make the list a valuable instrument of discovery and advocacy for the most promising new business models in North America.

  • Check-in at IGI airport's brand-new Terminal 3 with Aviation Minister Praful Patel, Exclusively on ET NOW

Submitted by ITV Production on Jul 03, 2010

MUMBAI: ET NOW, the English-language business news channel that brings you unparalleled stock market analysis and high-impact new stories, gets you a sneak preview of the brand new Terminal 3 at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. And walking you through the state-of-the-art creation, built in record time, is none other than the Minister for Civil Aviation Praful Patel.

While the `T3,‘ completed just in time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, is undoubtedly a feather in Mr. Patel‘s cap and a vindication of his strategy to partner with the private sector to modernize India‘s airports, the glitter of the glass-and-chrome structure can‘t deflect attention from many of the serious challenges facing India‘s aviation sector. The biggest among them is the future of Air India, which is hobbled by losses, a dispirited workforce and questions surrounding the airline‘s safety practices following the recent fatal crash in Mangalore. How realistic are Mr. Patel‘s plans of reviving the flag carrier, which is currently surviving on taxpayer‘s largesse?

Also, is the aviation minister willing to accept that the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines has been a non-starter? Will the government come to the aid of private airlines if the incipient recovery in their business performance peters out as the European financial crisis worsens? Watch Parful Patel field these and many other probing questions from Andy Mukherjee, the executive editor of ET Now, as they take a walk around what is soon poised to become the world‘s sixth-largest airport and a symbol of an India that is once again daring to dream big.

Check in at Terminal 3 with Praful Patel, a half-hour exclusive on ET NOW, plays this Saturday 6:00 pm and Sunday 4:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
