    MUMBAI: This New Year, Sony Entertainment Television brings to its viewers one of the biggest, exciting and high-profile shows - Dard-E-Disco.

    If you thought King Khan‘s dard-e-disco act from Om Shanit Om was a spark of the 70s, watch out for this one with the original disco stars, the real blast from the past! Dard-E-Disco, the show celebrates bollywood disco and felicitates the original disco kings/queens ? Usha Utthup, Bappida, Zeenat Amaan. These stars, the special guests for the evening, will also shake a leg, revisiting their disco memories.

    The show puts together the best of bollywood disco ever; from Disco 82 to new age disco to very popular remixes all on one platform - Dard-E-Disco. Setting the stage on fire are the host of bollywood stars and television celebrities presenting exhilarating dance acts to enthrall the viewers. Ronit Roy and Yash Tonk put their best foot forward and proves their dancing skills. Other celebrities to dance and boogie are - tall and pretty Karishma Tanna, the very talented Karan Mehra, Roshni Chopra, Barkha Bisht, Naman Shaw, Gaurav Chopra, Udita Goswami, Sayali Bhagat and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa winner Prachi Desai.

    There‘s more to dance with singer Usha Uthup stretching her vocal chords to disco. She has to her credit some ‘all time disco hits‘ like Ramba ho and Om Shanti Om which are popular even today. The Baap of Disco, Bappi Lahiri , known for old disco Hindi numbers will give a special performance, making the evening even more musical!

    Comedian Suresh Menon and the sunshine girl Shruti Seth who not only takes the viewers through the show but share a few funny anecdotes on the famous ‘Bollywood Disco‘ era anchor the show.   • Top 4 Jodis sizzle in Jjhoom India this Saturday

    MUMBAI: Jhhoom India on SaharaOne bids adieu to the year 2007 in style with some solo performances and top hit numbers of 2007.

    Saturday 29th December is the last episode of this year as far as JJhoom India goes and they bid adieu to the year in style. It‘s Masti Time as the contestants say ‘Bye Bye to 2007‘ and Welcome the year 2008.

    The special guest this week is none other than the beautiful actress Amrita Rao and accompanying her is debutant actor Nikhil Dwivedi. They are on the Jhoom sets for the promotion of their next venture ?My Name is Anthony Gonsalves?. After Friday?s elimination round the show got its top four. This week saw Chhavi and Shekhar at the bottom and finally the other Jodi‘s choose Shekhar to remain as part of the contest thus Chhavi Mithal getting eliminated. The remaining four Jodi‘s now left in the contest, Sachin-Madhushree, Varun-Akriti, Roshni-Vinod and Shekhar-Sanjeevani make sure to give out their best performance in front of the celebrities and the judges.

    The Saturday ?Bye Bye 2007? episode will have two rounds. In the first round, the top 4 Jodi?s will sing some best of 2007 numbers. While second round would see the top four actors going solo without the help of their mentors. The actors though nervous end up giving some really good performances. The only unfortunate incident this week being that, Roshni suffering from throat infection was unable to complete her solo song. She would be singing ?Pyaar ki Kahani Suno? from ?Honeymoon Travels? and ?Lambi Judai? as the solo song. Others make sure to give the best of their talents which is evident from the judges‘ comments too this week. All the judges were unanimous in pointing out that the top four selected are really the best ones and all have improved drastically from what they were at the starting of the show.

After having continuously provided the best of news and infotainment all year through, CNN-IBN now brings its viewers a line-up of great programming in the days leading up to 2008:

    Saturday, December 29:

    • Ideas 2008 (8:30 pm): This special year-ender show attempts to take a look into the year ahead and predict what will be the BIG ideas of 2008. From land issues and SEZ‘s; religion; urban conflict and the rise of the megapolis; to technology; sexuality and health - ‘Ideas 2008‘ covers the major ideas that are expected to shape the country over the next twelve months.
    • Citizen Journalist special (9:30 pm): Two years ago, CNN-IBN began a revolution when it introduced the country to the concept of ‘Citizen Journalism‘. It encouraged people to not simply imbibe the news, but become an intrinsic part of the news gathering process. Since then, scores of people have sent in videos, photographs and posted blogs to report on a variety of issues and from across the country. The CJ special rounds up the year‘s best and most influential stories sent in by people from across the country. The CJ with the best story will then be awarded the ‘Best Citizen Journalist of the Year‘ award on behalf of CNN-IBN.
    • ‘Song of the Year‘ (10:30 pm): CNN-IBN & IBNLive.com had presented an online-poll that asked the public to vote for the ‘Song of the Year‘ out of a choice of 13 songs that rocked 2007. The results of the poll will be revealed in a special half-hour show that will feature interviews of the music directors, lyricists, singers & actors involved in the top 5 songs polled. What‘s more, those responsible for the best-judged song will be presented a special CNN-IBN ‘Song of the Year‘ Trophy to recognize their ability to get the entire country swaying to their tunes!


    Sunday, December 30:

    • World 365 (6:30 pm): A year-ender take on CNN-IBN‘s weekly International affairs programme, World 365 takes a look back at the big events and developments that made headlines the world-over. Special segments in the show will include - Citizen Journalist reports from across the globe, the funniest-international-moments of 2007 and a look at the achievements of global Indians across various disciplines.
    • Devil‘s Advocate - Karan vs. Karan (8:30 pm): This has to be one of Devil‘s Advocate‘s most unusual, yet fascinating, episodes thus far. The show will also take a comical and cheeky look at two of 2007‘s biggest box office duds - Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag and Saawariya.

    Monday, December 31:

    • Sports 365 (7:30 pm): The half-hour show provides a comprehensive rundown of all the major sporting moments, both good and bad, that took place in 2007. From India winning the T20 World Cup to Vishwanathan Anand being declared World Chess Champion, ‘Sports 365‘ will cover developments across all sports categories in the past twelve months.
    • Top 10 Events (8 pm): The one-hour show will be based on the results of an IBNLive.com poll where viewers voted for what they felt were the most significant news events to shape 2007.
    • 2007: A Musical (9:30 pm): A hilarious and spoofy year-end summary of the major events that took place in 2007. What makes this show unique is the satirical synchronisation of the chosen events with a corresponding popular Bollywood number. For instance, images of Narendra Modi winning the Gujarat elections will be accompanied by the soundtrack of ‘Don‘ to illustrate the influence and fear that he commands in the state.

  • Mithun does an item number on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs

    MUMBAI: Flat on the floor after being bowled over by the delightful surprises sprung at him on the sets of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L?il Champs, Sonu Nigam asked for a moment to compose himself before he could resume shooting. From being shown footage of his first film as a child artiste, ?Pyaara Dushman? to having his Guru Gulam Mustafa visit him on the sets, Sonu couldn?t help but feel overwhelmed when his 3-year-old nephew Jasraj, dressed in a white tuxedo, went up on stage to sing ?Kya Hua Tera Waada?, the very song with which Sonu had begun his journey as a stage performer. Sonu was in splits when his chaddi buddies Bunty & Kailash paid the sets a visit and regaled the audience with nostalgic tales of their college days. The team at Li?l Champs delivered its final blow when they showed Sonu an AV they?d shot of all the music composers he has worked with. Their glowing words of praise and affection served as a knock-out punch for an already emotional Sonu!.Sonu special episode is on this Friday (28th Dec).

    Also on the sets of Li?l Champs was the star cast of the forthcoming flick, My Name is Anthony Gonzales ? Mithun Da, Amrita Rao and Nikhil Dwivedi. While Amrita sparkled in Zee?s hot new hue, Purple, everybody?s favourite Disco Dancer made a splash by turning up on a Chartered flight. While the crowd burst out with rip-roaring laughter and cheering on seeing Mithun Da dance like a siren to li?l Vaishali?s rendition of ?Laila Main Laila?, young Vibhor in his true-blue flirtatious andaaz presented Amrita Rao with a rose and shook a leg with her. On Aditya Narain?s insistence, Sonu brilliantly mimicked Remo Fernandes with ?Humma Humma?. Woah! What a Hungama! Mithun Da and Amrita Rao are special guests on this Saturday (29th Dec).

  • Jersey No. 10 cast wishes good luck to Indian Cricket Team

    MUMBAI: Country‘s first and only cricket-based show, Jersey No. 10, has wished the Indian cricket team all the best for their Australian series that started today. Keeping with the cricket spirit, the Jersey No. 10 stars, Cinevistaas and SAB TV officials came together to wish Team India best of luck for the year 2008 starting with the Australian tour. The Jersey No. 10 team unveiled a cricket bat signed by stars and crew, which would be presented to the Indian team upon their return from Australia. The stars urged the Indian team to "repeat the T20 streak in Australia".

    Jersey No. 10, a Cinevistaas production for SAB TV, is a sporting drama based on the evident passion of cricket among Indian youth. The show, launched on November 5 th, has drawn immense interest from the masses, especially the youth. The evening, hosted by Cinevistaas, felicitated the show‘s cast and was especially planned to coincide with the first day of the India-Australia Gavaskar-Border test series. It was no surprise when the show stars shouted in unison, "Repeat T20 India!"

    Says Sunil Mehta, Vice Chairman & MD, Cinevistaas Ltd, "There is no better way to further bolster the confidence of our determined cricket icons on their first day in Australia as they face perhaps the most aggressive team in the world. This cricket bat carries all our best wishes and prayers for the Indian team who are more than capable of ousting Australia in Australia!!"

    The star and crew of the show will present the signed cricket bat to the Indian Cricket team on their return to India, and if given a chance, will take tips from their real-life heroes on how to better their reel-life ‘performance‘.

    Adds Mehta, "Each character on the show has his own personal favourite in the Indian team whom he idolizes and imbibes values, ethics and a code of conduct from. You meet them and you know that even in reel life, they are following sure footedly in the footsteps of their real life heroes.     Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has always worn Jersey no. 10 and has immortalized it as the most prestigious jersey to have in the Indian squad. The SAB TV show, Jersey No. 10, is the story of the main protagonist Nakul who has his heart set on making it to the National Cricket Team. Competing with him in the Cricket Academy is his own step-brother Arjun, another all-rounder with a similar talent. The show revolves around the rivalry between the two and is known for its real life treatment of cricket just as the masses know it. It also realistically depicts various facets of the struggle faced by an upcoming cricketer in India.
