MUMBAI: Delighted RJs Priya & Nitin had tears in their eyes as they completed the 100 hour marathon that they set out to achieve on 22 August, 2007 at 7.00 am, which ended at 11:00 am on 26 August, 2007. The on-air stunt has created another unique record in the history of Radio world wide. The RJs were so happy after the successful completion of the 100 hours that they forgot their sleep and celebrated with the entire team and listeners who had come to wish them on their accomplishment.

BIG 92.7 FM ensured all arrangements required like medical assistance, food, energy drinks, string of well wishers to ensure the jocks are in high spirits and also a well chalked out programming plan to ensure the successful completion of the marathon. Friends, family, school kids, fans thronged the BIG 92.7 FM office throughout their 100 hour stunt, of course not to forget the co-jocks who kept encouraging them and connecting them to people across different parts of the city. There were also celebrities like Lab Janjua, Daler Mahendi, Jimmy Shergill, Sonia Mehra, Kamal Sadana and Dilbagh Singh at the BIG FM studio, who visited specially to wish them luck and pray for a successful marathon completion. " Power Horse" energy drink took care of Priya & Nitin‘s energy levels throughout the record breaking attempt.

Speaking about the attempt, RJ Priya & Nitin said in a very cheerful mood, "100 hours of non-stop RJing, was the biggest thing we ever attempted. It called for lots of determination, and to bear with the other person patiently. Despite a few arguments and disagreements, both of us kept going and it was only because of the support of the listeners and callers and of-course entire BIG 92.7 FM team we actually stood by our commitment and successfully completed the task. Through this attempt we have certainly gone closer to our listeners and changed the perception of a lot of people and definitely lived up to our vision statement: To be the first choice of listeners as we not only entertain but positively impact and transform their lives."

MUMBAI: Ten Sports will show the best of the Dutch league again this weekend, as the season heads into the second round of fixtures. Week 1 was certainly dramatic, with Ajax winning away from home at Heracles Almelo 8-1, whilst champions PSV had to battle hard for a 2-0 victory away at De Graafschap.

What was clear from the first round of fixtures was the quality on show in the Dutch league this season, with 21 year old prodigy Ibrahim Afellay, the star of the PSV victory to justify the belief that he will become a major star.

This weekend, the attention switches to title rivals Feyenoord, who are at home to Heerenveen, whilst Ajax are at home to VW Venlo. The marathon was a true test of fortitude, endurance and of course a true radio lover.

Friends, family, school kids, fans thronged the BIG 92.7 FM office throughout his 92.7 hour stunt, of course not to forget his co-jocks who kept encouraging him and connecting him to people across different parts of the city. There were also celebrities like Sruthi Hasan, Aishwarya Dhanush Rajnikanth, Naresh Iyer, Priya Mani, Swarnamalya, Venkat Prabhu, Vijay Adhiraj, actress Priyanka and Mumtaz who came forward to encourage Dheena and ensure he was in high spirits. In fact they were quite amazed at his enthusiasm since he was livelier than others. Since such a marathon had never been attempted before and hence there were no learning‘s for RJ Dheena to go by. Dheena had been preparing himself for this marathon both physically and mentally and undertaking several fitness, yoga and meditation classes to ensure the highest levels of patience, commitment and focus. These preparations along with prayers to the almightily and seeking blessings from his near and dear ones and of course listeners who kept calling in and encouraging him, helped him complete the mammoth marathon!

Speaking about his attempt, RJ Speed Dheena said in a very emotional mood, "I am very excited at having completed the marathon, but this experience made me actually realize the love that the people of Chennai have for me. People, across ages came over to meet me, called me and helped me through this feat. Am glad I could realize the dream of my Radio Station BIG 92.7 FM. These experience has taught me a lot, patience, focus, how to concentrate with almost no sleep (laughs) and of course how much people love me. I thank everyone for their support."

When asked about what he is looking forward to doing, he shyly says, "Just some sleep right now?"?
