Radio One Fm 94.3 will broadcast the interview of Sanjeev Srivastava at 12 noon on Sunday
MUMBAI: When you have no interest in studies, you only have two options - politics and business, said Sunil Bharti Mittal in an exclusive interview with Sanjeev Srivastava (India Editor - BBC Hindi).
Mumbai‘s leading FM channel Radio One Fm 94.3 will broadcast the interview at 12 noon on Sunday, July 8th, simultaneously, in Mumbai and New Delhi.
In a free-wheeling interview, Sunil Mittal speaks about his childhood days in Ludhiana when he was more interested in playing and not studying which made his parents wonder what would he do when he grew up. Even during his college days, he would indulge more in shooting, gliding and flying than studies, which was a cause of concern for his parents.
"I learnt a lot from my parents, especially my father. He was in politics. I have seen him combining a lot. He was at ease among the slum dwellers as he was at a lecture at the UN. He could handle two opposites very well. Today, you make me sit in the streets or at a global economic forum. It will make no difference. There are very few Indians who have been co-chairman of a global economic forum. I have seen people drifting to one side. Thanks to my father, I am not like that," he said while stressing on the fact that how much ever one grows in stature, one should not forget one‘s roots.
In the interview, Sunil Mittal talks about the importance of studies but also stresses that one has to be focused on one‘s objectives, one need‘s to dream and be ready to work hard to realise the dreams. As is well known, Sunil Mittal started his career with a paltry Rs. 20,000/- making cycle parts for Hero Cycles in Ludhiana and has even driven trucks laden with vegetables from ports to the market.
The interview gives an interesting insight into Sunil Mittal the person and the professional and is sure to be an inspiration to listeners from all walks of life.
