  • Coca Cola celebrates World Environment Day

    MUMBAI: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. celebrated the World Environment Day by undertaking a slew of cleanliness activities in Mumbai.

    Dedicating bore wells and pipelines, organising tree plantation drive, conducting free PUC check ups were the part of their initiatives.

    Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. Also sponsored dustbins and presented them to Hon. Mayor of Mumbai Dr. Shubha Raul, at the mayor‘s bungalow, to support the Municipal Corporations of Greater Mumbai‘s clean Mumbai drive.

    Along with the Hon. Mayor of Mumbai, Dr. Jairaj Phatak, Municipal Commissioner and top BMC officials were also present at the ocassion.

    Speaking at the occasion, Hon. Mayor of Mumbai, Dr Shubha Raul, said, "MCGM is open to partnering with corporates today to protect the environment. This indeed accentuates the companies, and corporates are now going a step further to consider CSR initiatives as an integral part of their company‘s policy. We are happy that a company like Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. is associated with us as this initiative will mark the company‘s dedication towards preserving and protecting the environment. "

    A couple of other initiatives were also seen at there Wada Plant on this day. HCCBPL dedicated bore wells and pipe lines to support Waste Land Organic Farming Project at Devghar village. Tree plantation drive was organised at the Mallyan Pada Primary School Kudus, Urdu School Vadavali and ITI Wada and the company also conducted a free PUC check up camp at Mahalaxmi Petrol Pump, Kudus for company associates, transporter vehicles and general public.

    Commenting on the initiatives undertaken, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd. public affairs and communication regional head Captain Nickil Baswan, said, "Preserving our environment has always been a part of our company‘s corporate social responsibility and it our constant endeavor to indulge in such activities to protect the environment.

  • IBN 7 re-launches Hindustan ki Kasam in a new avatar

    MUMBAI: IBN 7 has re-launched it‘s popular series - Hindustan ki Kasam in a fresh new format. The series, previously associated with infrastructural issues and other campaign-based stories, will now predominantly focus on human interest stories directly or indirectly related to the day‘s news. Concerned authorities and experts will be asked to participate in these cases and provide their valued opinions. The shows airs everyday at 5:30 pm only on IBN 7

    An example of story on Hindustan ki Kasam that was aired very recently was that of an engaged couple, where the girl was a Dera follower while the boy and his family were patrons of the Akali Dal. With tensions in Punjab over the Dera Sacha Sauda controversy, the couple‘s engagement was broken off leaving the two distressed. While the episode focused on this particular couple it also discussed the repercussion of such communal unrest on various different relationships. Stories like this and other topical and contemporary issues -all associated with the current news and happenings - will be the focus of Hindustan ki Kasam henceforth.

  • Radio City goes green on World Environment Day

    MUMBAI : Radio City 91.1 FM is observing World Environment Day on 5 June through a host of interactive community mobilisation initiatives with listeners in Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Lucknow.With the single objective of enhancing awareness on current environmental concerns and propagate the importance of a cleaner, greener and pollution free environment, Radio City has lined up a series of on ground activities and special programming features in each of these cities.

    To celebrate the endeavours of socially responsible citizens of Delhi, Radio City, Delhi is joining hands with Swechha (We for Yamuna) and the British Council India to usher in ‘Yamunotsav - the celebration of the spirit of Yamuna‘; to draw the attention of Delhiites towards critical environmental concerns. To rediscover the relationship with the environment, Yamunotsav, will also be celebrating a cultural evening on 4 June at the British Council Theatre, 17 Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi from 6:30 pm onwards. One of the major attractions of the evening is the premier of the film Wasted, a documentary produced by Swechha that traces the journey of waste produced from households to final destination, viz. landfills and beyond. The film is an attempt to draw the attention towards, the culture of producing waste and, the ignorance of the adverse social and ecological effects associated with the same.

    Another major highlight of the evening is a musical extravaganza featuring Rahul Ram (of Indian Ocean fame) in concert with Jigri. While Rahul Ram has enthralled millions across the globe with his unmatched musical talent; Jigri, a part of Swechha is a band with a cause; striving to spread the message of social citizenship. Listeners can also catch the band Jigri perform live in the studios on 5 June 2007 on the Radio City‘s Breakfast Show from 9 to 10 am.

    Driving home the idea of conserving environmental resources, Radio City, Bangalore in association with Suntechnics Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd organised a walkathon in Bangalore on 5 June 2007 from 8 to 9 am at Cubbon Park. Joining listeners for the Walkathon, RJ Pavithra from Radio City ‘You & Me‘ spread awareness about this cause among the people of the city.

    Spreading the message ‘We Care‘, Radio City, Lucknow is conducting the ‘Go Green with Radio City‘ contest live at Fun Republic, Gomtinagar with RJ Meenu and RJ Amir on June 5 from 5:30 pm- 6:30 pm. As part of the contest, listeners are invited to go green with their imagination and dress up innovatively in the most eco-friendly manner.   • Celebrate World Environment Day with Radio Mirchi

    MUMBAI : Radio Mirchi in its initiative to create awareness in conserving the environment has organized a series of program starting Tuesday, 05 June, 2007 on the occasion of World Environment Day. It is a day when people focus on the environment and is celebrated in over 100 countries. The theme for this year‘s World Environment Day is Global Warming - due to which ice caps around the world are melting.

    The World Environment Day special on Radio Mirchi will commence with a series on experts giving tips to listeners on How to cut down environmental pollution. The Mirchi team then plans to distribute free saplings to its listeners at select locations in the city. Along with it, prizes will be given away to people who are spotted wearing green and will distribute jute bags for groceries to select listeners. In addition, Radio Mirchi morning special - Hello Mumbai will have Environmentalist & editor of Sanctuary Magazine, Bittu Seghal as special guest. Mirchi RJ (hawadaar hawaldaar) will visit specific locations in the city on Maharashtra Pollution Board‘s van to check & give listeners update on the level of pollution. Mirchi‘s All Women program - Khoobsoorat will have herbal beauty tips and celebrated Chef Sanjeev Kapoor will dish out recipes on ‘hari subziyan‘. Further, the show will also talk about maintaining home plants.

    The evening show, Total Filmi will focus on water with a special named - ‘Mumbai Ka Jal - Mumbai tera paani amrit!‘. The special will highlight the problem of water pollution and its causes in Mumbai. RJ Jeeturaj will urge listeners to start a mini cleanliness drive in order to keep their surroundings clean.
