  • Watch Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya on friday at 5 on Star Gold

Submitted by ITV Production on Apr 19

MUMBAI: This Friday, Star Gold presents the wackiest comedy ever with an amazing star cast, superlative performances, hilariously devised situations and wit at its best! As part of the Comedy Honors initiative, Star Gold has been presenting to its viewers hardcore comedy entertainment every single day! It‘s time to leave your thinking caps behind once again as the Salaam-e-Comedy Mela presents a film about a womanizing doctor who gets stuck between two women: a patient with suicidal tendencies and his nurse. Tune-in to the super hit comedy film Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya this Friday, April 20th at 5 p.m. only on Star Gold.

Dr. Samir (Salman Khan) is a womanizer and a commitment phobe. He has thought out an easy way to get his girlfriends to dump him after he gets bored of them - he lies that he is already married. But when he actually falls for his new girlfriend Sonia (Katrina Kaif), she demands that he should first arrange a meeting between his wife and her. So Samir asks Naina (Sushmita Sen), the nurse in his clinic to pose as his wife before Sonia. However the situation becomes problematic when Samir‘s mother (Beena Kak) arrives.

Directed by David Dhawan, the film has a blend of humor with glamour, glitz, and grandeur. It looks slick and glossy, is highly engrossing and comes off as David‘s finest comedy to date. No David Dhawan flick is complete without a cast made up of wild characters. Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya has a confused doctor, an outrageous struggler, an irritating and pushy girl friend, a sacrificing madly-in-love nurse, a playful best friend, a slap-swinging mother and what‘s more, David throws in an insanely obsessed shorty in Rajpal Yadav for good measures. All the characters have been given equal importance and all the actors have done a great job.

So this Friday evening, make sure you tune into Star Gold to catch the fun-filled flick Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya at 5 p.m.

  • Watch 'Chasing Life' this Saturday CNN

Submitted by ITV Production on Apr 12

MUMBAI: Advocates for stem cell therapy, human growth hormone therapy and dietary supplements all claim to help people live longer and healthier lives; yet, there‘s only one scientifically proven method to prolonging life.

CNN reveals it and tells what works - and what doesn‘t - in CNN SPECIAL INVESTIGATIONS UNIT: CHASING LIFE, a revealing new one-hour documentary hosted by CNN‘s chief medical correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

CHASING LIFE examines stem cell research which remains a hotly debated political issue and is illegal in most countries, but claims of body rejuvenation and mind reanimation are compelling to those wishing to find a virtual fountain of youth. Dr. Gupta reveals the facts behind these claims by travelling to Russia to get a rare glimpse inside a Moscow clinic that offers stem cell treatments. He also introduces one doctor running the clinic who shows how it operates and explains why millions of dollars could be made in offering stem cells to the public.

Dr. Gupta explores calorie-restriction diets which were known to scientists for showing remarkable results in the laboratory for extending life. Yet, these strict, near-starvation diets have not caught on. He sits down for a 639-calorie meal with a couple who swear by the health benefits and possibilities of fighting off degenerative diseases that a calorie-restriction diet provides.

CHASING LIFE sees an expert on alternative forms of medicine and avid user of dietary supplements who offers his viewpoints on the ones he feels are most beneficial. However, even the expert admits that he has second thoughts about which supplements and how many to take. Dr. Gupta also investigates whether the hype behind human growth hormones may be putting users at a higher risk for complications such as joint pain or, worse, cancer.

In addition to the special, an online report ( www.cnn.com/chasinglife) features user-generated iReports, photo galleries, a longevity health quiz, and a sample menu and recipe for a calorie-restriction diet.
