MUMBAI: A woman plays so many different roles in her life - the role of a daughter, sister, wife and a mother. Most often they forfeit their desires and wishes for the well being and happiness of others. But times are changing and Star One is breaking these stereotypes by portraying the new age women who are compassionate with others and at the same time strong-minded and determined themselves. Star One gives an opportunity to the leading ladies of its shows to take "Ek Nayi Udaan" on 13th May and give a new direction to their lives. These women are intelligent, bright and are ready to take charge of their destiny.

Geet (played by Dhrashti Dhami) from Geet Hui Sabse Parayi is a victim of a fraud NRI marriage who has been abandoned by Dev (the NRI husband played by Abhinav SHukla) a day after their marriage. But Geet is not the one to succumb to fate and let others rule her life. On 13th May, Geet will take "Ek Naya Nishchay". Dev made a mockery out of this marriage but Geet is not going to let this incident take the better of her and accept it as her destiny.

Khanak (played by Yashashree Masurkar) from Rang Badalti Odhani has been widowed a day after her marriage to her childhood sweetheart because of the negligence of Shantanu (played by Karan Tacker). Panchayat has decided on her remarriage but Khanak is totally flustered. On 13th May Khanak takes "Ek Naya Nirnaya" when she chooses to live her life on her own conditions rather than letting others make pronouncements for her.

Riddhima (played by Jennifer Winget) is caught in a tight spot which is making her life miserable. On one hand is the love of her life Armaan (played by Karan Grover) and on the other hand is Sidd (played by Karan Wahi) who supported her and married her at the time when she was alone and depressed. Although Armaan was her true love, deep down it‘s her marriage that is her priority. On 13th May Riddhima makes ‘Ek Nayi Koshish‘ to save her marriage because she believes that marriage is one relationship which is meant for a lifetime.

Ayesha (played by Sanjida Sheikh) from Jaane Pehchaane Se Yeh Ajnabi has been refraining herself from falling in love with Veer (played by Siddharth Shukla) because she feels he has wronged her many times. However, on 13th May Ayesha makes "Ek Nayi Shuruwat". She is determined to bridge the distances between her and Veer and seal their relationship with love.

Television has had enough of sob stories. Star One redefines entertainment by empowering its women to take life changing decisions and stand up for their own self rather than being dependent on others for their happiness.

Commenting on this initiative, Nikhil Mirchandani, GM Star One says, "Through "Ek Nayi Udaan" we are trying to reach out to our audience and increase engagement with the show. It is our desire to create strong resolute women who would be an inspiration to all those who face similar situations which the protagonists are facing on the shows."

Watch the leading ladies of Dill Mill Gaye, Jaane Pehchane se Yeh Ajnabi, Geet ui Sabse Parayi and Rang Badalti Odhani take "Ek Nayi Udaan" on 13th May only on Star On.
