MUMBAI: Eros International Media, the integrated film studio, has elevated Rajesh Bahl to COO of Eros Digital, a newly formed division of Eros, with effect from 1 June.

In his new role, Bahl will oversee the development plans of the digital and new media arm of Eros International plc. Bahl previously led the digital efforts as chief digital officer of Eros India since his appointment in March 2010.

As COO, Bahl will report into Eros Digital CEO Ricky Ghai.

Bahl said, ?Eros has made huge strides in the digital arena and in my new role, I look forward to launching several exciting new digital services for both the Indian market and the global diaspora. This is an exciting time for Eros to become an even more significant player in the growing Indian consumer internet market.?

Under Bahl, Eros anchored a partnership agreement with Verismo Networks, an internet TV platform producing company based out of the US to distribute Eros Movies in international markets. He also handled the digital marketing campaigns for all the new film releases.

Eros International chairman Kishore Lulla added, ?As an expanding company, we are constantly recruiting and restructuring roles and responsibilities to manage that growth. Rajesh?s appointment as COO, Eros Digital is a strategic move to reiterate the company?s focus on the digital sphere in the global landscape and further consolidate our position in this space.?

Bahl has close to 14 years of experience in the M&E industry and has held senior positions in Star India, Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment.
