Clooney likely to play Steve Jobs!
MUMBAI: George Clooney is in the running with his former ER co-star Noah Wyle to play the late Apple boss Steve Jobs
MUMBAI: ?Mad Men?s streak of winning best drama at the Emmy awards came to an end when it was beaten by ?Homeland?. However ?Modern Family? fought off competition to win Best Comedy for the third year in a row.
?Homeland? was a big winner with actors Claire Danes and Damien Lewis also winning awards. On the comedy side, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won for ?Veep? while Jon Cryer won for ?Two And a Half Men?. Lewis beat Bryan Cranston of ?Breaking Bad? who had won three Emmy Awards in the past.
Danes thanked the show?s cast, and husband Hugh Dancy: "My husband, my love, my life, my baby daddy. I couldn?t do anything without you. I love you so much and I am so grateful. it?s way cool that Barack Obama is a fan of the show. It speaks to the relevancy of the show and it?s hugely validating."
Alex Gansa, one of ?Homeland?s executive producers said, "I want to start by congratulating Showtime on its first best-series Emmy ever. It?s been a long time coming, and Homeland stands on the shoulders of a lot of great shows over there: Dexter, Weeds, Nurse Jackie, among them all."
?Modern Family? actors Eric Stonestreet and Julie Bowen won.
For the 10th time ?The Daily Show? hosted by Jon Stewart won an Emmy for variety show. ?The Amazing Race? won for reality show.
Movie stars also won awards. The award for actress in a TV Miniseries or Movie went to Julianne Moore for ?Game Change? which also won for best TV Miniseries or Movie. On the male side Kevin Costner won for ?Hatfields & McCoys?.
MUMBAI: Zee Caf? will telecast the 64th annual Emmy awards live on 24 September. The event celebrates the year?s best television programmes at Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles.
The event will air at 4:30 am, with a repeat later in the evening at 8 pm.

MUMBAI: At the 63th Primetime Emmy Awards which recognise the best that US television has to offer, ?Mad Men? and ?Modern Family? again won for best drama and comedy series respectively.
Another repeat winner was Jim Parsons who won for comedy actor in a leading role for ?The Big Bang Theory?. Julianna Margulies won for ?The Good Wife? in the category best actress in a drama series. PBS? Downton Abbey did well in the miniseries/movie categories,
Kate Winslet won for her title role in the HBO miniseries ?Mildred Pearce?. Her co-star Guy Pearce also triumphed.
Filmmaker Martin Scorcese won for directing the pilot episode of ?Boardwalk Empire?. ?Modern Family?s Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell also won statues. Kyle Chandler was also awared for playing the lead in ?Friday Night Lights?.
Peter Dinklage won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for ?Game of Thrones
