MUMBAI: US broadcaster Fox has ordered two more seasons of the musical show ?Glee?. In India the show airs on Star World.

Fox chairman of entertainment Kevin Reilly said, " ?Glee? debuted as the first and only successful musical comedy series on television, and more than four years later, it continues to defy genres, break new ground and have a significant impact on popular culture."

"Week in and week out, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, Ian Brennan, Dante DiLoreto and the entire ?Glee? team deliver a series that not only delights and surprises fans, but also inspires them to talk about, share, debate and engage with the show - and I?m absolutely thrilled to have them on board for another two seasons." Reilly concluded.

Twentieth Century Fox Television Chairmen Dana Walden and Gary Newman said, " ?Glee? has been a signature series for the studio since its launch four years ago and we couldn?t be happier that Fox has ordered two more seasons. MUMBAI: The issue over Barry Diller-backed Aereo airing TV channels without giving compensation threatens to snowball into a major issue, with News Corp COO Chase Carey saying the media conglomerate is exploring options including going pay.

News Corp will take Fox off the air and make it a cable channel unless American courts stop Internet company Aereo from retransmitting shows like "The Simpsons" without the network?s permission.

A US Appeals Court last week rejected a plea by broadcasters to shut down Aereo. Coming on the front foot, Carey said News Corp will not just sit idle and allow content to be actively stolen. "It is clear that the broadcast business needs a dual revenue stream from both ads and subscription to be viable. We simply cannot provide the type of quality sports, news, and entertainment content that we do from an ad-supported only business model. We have no choice but to develop business solutions that ensure we continue to remain in the driver?s seat of our own destiny. One option could be converting the Fox broadcast network to a pay channel, which we would do in collaboration with both our content partners and affiliates.?

He reiterated that News Corp has a long-standing commitment to the broadcast television business, and to delivering the highest-quality entertainment, sports and news programming to viewers on a localised basis. "We are committed to broadcasting under a business model where programmers receive fair compensation from parties that want to redistribute our product while continuing to make our product available for free to individual consumers that want to access our signal.?

Carey added: ?We believe that Aereo is pirating our broadcast signal. We will continue to aggressively pursue our rights in the courts, as well as pursue all relevant political avenues, and we believe we will prevail.

MUMBAI: ?Emergency Room?, a tale of dramatic and "heart wrenching" episodes that occur almost everyday in a hospital, will soon be aired by National Geographic Channel in association with Medanta Hospital.

The series for which a release date is yet to be announced will be shot inside the Emergency Room of Medanta. The series will encompass the story of doctors and hospital staff that work relentlessly to defeat death and heal sickness as well as the emotional tale of the ailing patients looking for a medicine or a miracle to save them.

A total of 25 cameras rolling 24x7 will capture the efforts by doctors, nurses, surgeons and paramedics alike as they face the never-ending queue of people who need immediate medical attention.

From the anticipation and anxiety in the Emergency Room to the humour and sadness in the Recovery Room - the series will look beyond a hospital?s flashing blue lights and present the real picture of life in the medical world.
