Raghu Ram, the producer of Roadies added, "It?s amazing to see how youngsters travel from different parts of the country and queue up for the auditions. The levels of energy and fervour displayed are phenomenal and inspiring. This year we come back with a different dose of edgy, limitless Roadies madness."
This season also introduces "Everything or Nothing" as a motto to thrive on and contestants will participate in each task with vigour and valour to earn their spot in the series.
The auditions for the show, to be aired every Saturday at 7 pm, will be flagged off from Delhi. The search to pick the deserving participants will then move to Pune making a stop in Kolkata. Then the Roadies bus will halt in Chandigarh and Hyderabad.
MUMBAI: Fever FM, the radio arm of HT Media, has swung into operating loss. For the quarter ended September, it has reported an operating loss of Rs 45.4 million compared to an Ebitda profit of Rs 2.8 million a year ago.
Revenue, however, rose 12 per cent to Rs 157 million during the fiscal second-quarter, as against Rs 141 million in the earlier year.
HT Media has employed a capital of Rs 832.7 million in its radio business, according to data provided till 30 September 2011. Fever FM operates FM stations in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
Meanwhile, HT Media, the publishers of Hindustan Times, has posted a net profit of Rs 468.9 million for the quarter under review, a 12.99 per cent increase over the year-ago period (Rs 388 million).
HT Media chairperson and editorial director Shobhana Bhartia said, "Higher advertising revenue on the back of expanding readership base has enabled us to post a healthy operational and financial performance despite a challenging macro environment. We are particularly pleased with the robust performance of our Hindi business in the quarter while the other print businesses continue to do well. The slowdown in the economy and adverse currency exchange rates are resulting in some headwinds. We will look to counter these challenges by leveraging our strong brand position to grow further while continuing our optimise costs."
Consolidated revenue went up 11 per cent to Rs 4.93 billion, from Rs 4.45 billion a year ago. The company said that it has witnessed a 13 per cent increase in print advertising to Rs 3.70 billion (from Rs 3.29 billion in Q2 FY?11), while circulation revenue saw 21 per cent hike to Rs 507 million (from Rs 418 million).
Total expenditure also rose to Rs 4.45 billion, as against Rs 3.88 billion in the prior year period. The company said that it was mainly because of a 13 per cent increase in consumption of raw material and 32 per cent increase in other expenditure.
Consolidated Ebitda stood at Rs 917 million, up 8 per cent from 852 million.
On a standalone basis, HT Media?s net profit came down to Rs 356.3 million, from Rs 452.5 million even as its revenues grew from Rs 2.98 billion to Rs 3.14 billion.
MUMBAI: Following a discussion between Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the Champions League Twenty20 (CLT20), the CLT20 Governing Council has today decided to move matches from Eden Gardens to Hyderabad and Bengaluru, pending approval from local authorities.
CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya said, "With regret and in the best interests of the tournament, CAB and CLT20 have reluctantly agreed to moving its four scheduled Group B matches away from Eden Gardens due to the heavy rains that have deluged Kolkata."
"We?re disappointed that we?re not able to host the matches, but this decision was unavoidable and taken out of our hands due to the current weather conditions. We wish CLT20 luck for the tournament and hope CAB will have the chance to host the event in the coming years."
As a result of today?s decision, the Group B matches on 25 and 27 September will now take place at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, while the match on 29 September involving Royal Challengers Bangalore and a team from the current qualifier, will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
New Delhi: Doordarshan has commenced the live telecast of the Federation Cup Football matches from today on DD Sports.
The first match to be telecast was the Air India Federation Club vs Prayag United FC from Kolkata from 3.30 pm today.
Two matches will be telecast live tomorrow: Kingfisher East Bengal vs Dempo SC from Kolkata at 3 pm and McDowell Mohan Bagan vs Churchill Brothers SC from Pune at 6.30 pm.
The two matches on 22 September will be Prayag United SC vs Sporting Clube De Goa from Kolkata at 3.30 pm and Pailan Arrows vs Salgaocar SC from Pune.
The two semi-finals will be telecast live from Kolkata at 5 pm on 25 and 26 September respectively, and the final will be telecast from Kolkata on 29 September.
