BBC Worldwide India: Women team makes fiction push
MUMBAI: Keeping the viewers glued to their television screens on prime time to cheer for their favourite Jhalak star
Mumbai: Celebrity dancing reality show format ?Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa?, airing on Hindi general entertainment channel Colors, will travel to the Bengali-language channel ETV Bangla.
Titled ?Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla?, the show is scheduled to go on air in March. The regional adaptation will also be produced by BBC Worldwide Productions India.
Judging the lineup of 12 celebrity contestants will be choreographer Remo D?souza and Koel Mullick. The show will be anchored by Bengali film actor Jishu Sengupta.
According to the channel, ETV Bangla brings together a lineup of 12 celebrity contestants from different walks of life who will redefine breaking traditions while nurturing a passion for dance and taking reality television to an all new level. The Bengali heartthrob ? Jishu Sengupta will be anchoring the show while the 12 contestants will take on everything from Salsa to Bhangra and from Cha-cha-cha to Chhau in a journey that will start with two left feet and lead them to a path of beauty and grace.
ETV Bangla programming head Ritika Roy said, ?ETV Bangla is proud to present Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla which will showcase known and much loved faces from the industry who will be stepping out of their comfort zones and will be exploring the beautiful world of dance. Supporting and guiding them in this endeavor will be their choreographers who will help them out at every step. We are also delighted to have the king of dance, Remo D?souza and leading actress Koel Mullick onboard as the judges.?
BBC Worldwide Productions India general manager and creative head Myleeta Aga said, ?Since the adaptation of BBC?s international hit format ?Dancing with the Stars? appeared on Indian screens, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has grown to become one of the most popular reality dance shows on television in the country. Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Bangla promises to take the format to an all new level of entertainment from its previous renditions and this season will be extensively remodeled from the international version to appeal to the Bengali viewers?.
MUMBAI: Channel [V], the youth channel from the Star India stable, is launching talk show format ?My Big Decision? starting 14 January.
A BBC Worldwide Production, My Big Decision will air every Saturday at 7 pm.
My Big Decision is about real time experiences of the youth today and their toughest voyage into the world of dreams vis-a-vis reality.

The show has been conceptualised on the premise that the youth is dabbling regularly with issues that nobody wishes to address. My Big Decision will appeal to the core audience and people at large as it provides a detailed insight into specific issues that the youth face with their lives and the consequences of making a decision on the same.
Hosted by Sandhya Mridul, the show traces the lives of 14 young contestants, whose aspirations are reliant on their decisions; the decision that will make way for a lifetime transition. These decisions are bold and beyond the societal norms.
