MUMBAI: With the exception of Australia and New Zealand, the fifth season of the Indian Premier League will be telecast in all the major markets with sizeable following.

Neo Cricket will air the the tournament in US on with Echostar.

The tournament will be telecast on ITV 4 in UK, Rogers in Canada, Setanta in Ireland, Super Sport in South Africa & sub-Saharan territories. In Carribean, the tournament is available on Sports Max.

As already reported by Indiantelevision.com, in Pakistan the tournament will be broadcast on Geo TV, while Carlton Sports will air it in Sri Lanka.

Pehla Platform, a pay television operator in Mena region, will telecast the tournament in Middle East. In Hong Kong and Singapore, the telecast rights are held by PCCW and Star Hub.

The IPL is also availaible on other popular platforms like Internet and mobile.

In India, the tournament is being streamed live on Indiatimes.com and Indiatimes channel on YouTube with a five-minute delay.

Willow.TV is carrying the live feed of the tournament in USA and Canada.

On mobile, Apalya Technologies, leading mobile TV service provider, will provide exclusive, mobile, video streaming for all the matches of the IPL.This will be the fourth consecutive year the company will be streaming the IPL.

MUMBAI: Former Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman Lalit Modi will be appealing against the High Court of London?s verdict in the libel case filed against him by ex-New Zealand captain Chris Cairns.

Modi has to lodge papers by 20 April. Modi lost a libel case to Cairns and was asked to pay 90,000 pounds in damages to the all-rounder.

Cairns had sued Modi over a tweet in which the latter accused the New Zealander of being involved in match-fixing during the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) in 2008.

Meanwhile, Modi criticised the opening ceremony of the IPL held last night that had the likes of Katy Perry performing. He tweeted: "So according to IPL fans ? nearly 100% have Tweeted they would have preferred Pre Game Opening Ceremony rather than an opening like today. Can?t bear to watch it anymore ? as on TV it looks appalling. Was really looking forward to seeing something well presented. I am sure the Ratings will show."

MUMBAI: Former IPL chairman Lalit Modi has lost libel case against former New Zealand cricketer Chris Cairns and as a consequence has to pay : ?90,000 in damages, according to to a London High Court order.

Modi will now have to pay up a part of the damages within the next 28 days and has until 20 April to file an appeal. The court also refused to entertain his plea for a stay on the damages.

Cairns, who was captain of Chandigarh Lions in the now defunct Indian Cricket League, had his contract terminated in October 2008, on allegations of breach of terms of his contract by failing to disclose an ankle injury.

As IPL chairman Modi had alleged that Cairns was involved in match fixing while justifying the decision to keep Cairns out of the league following which the cricketer sued Modi.

Cairns contended that the match-fixing allegation put a strain on his marriage as well.

MUMBAI: BBC America has announced its first primetime original show. ?No Kitchen Required? is an adventure cooking competition series that kicks off on 3 April.

Hosted by British presenter Dr. Shini Somara, the show follows three chefs as they are dropped into the most exotic and remote places on earth. There they must work with the locals to hunt, fish and forage for ingredients to create locally-inspired meals that will be judged by the communities.

?No Kitchen Required? joins BBC America?s stable of all-new original programming, along with Richard Hammond?s Crash Course, Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan and scripted drama Copper, which all premiere later this year.

The three fearless chefs are Michelin-starred New York restaurateur Michael Psilakis, first ever Chopped Grand Champion chef Madison Cowan, who has roots in London, Detroit and Jamaica, and elite personal chef from New Zealand, Kayne Raymond. The trio leave the comforts of their kitchens as they are dropped into ten locations around the world including Dominica, New Zealand, Belize, Fiji, Chiang Dao - Thailand, Koh Lanta - Thailand, Hawaii, New Mexico, Louisiana and Florida.

Integrating themselves in the communities, the chefs are exposed to all of the flavours and traditions of the locals. Challenged with the task of putting their own spin on the traditional cuisine, they are eagerly guided by locals who demonstrate the best techniques for catching their protein, including diving for crayfish and crabs, hunting for iguana with a slingshot, using a bow and arrow to hunt turkey and spear fishing for trout. It?s up to the chefs to combine their skills with the techniques and flavours of the locals to create a delectable feast for their hosts in just three hours. While all three chefs must face the hardships of the environment, only one can win the vote of their toughest critics ? the locals.

The show?s executive producer, director Chachi Senior said, " ?No Kitchen Required? is definitely the first of its kind. We?re introducing the viewing audience to cultures they may not be familiar with and using food as the vehicle for them to learn about these cultures. Along the way they get to engage in a rocking adventure through the eyes of our chefs."
