Mumbai: The Moto GP Circuit will get a distinct San Marinese flavour as on 6th September 2009 they will be back on the Misano Circuit, the land of motors. The countdown for the Gran Premio di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini has begun. Riders emotions will be at an all time high as they prepare mentally to garner points and consolidate positions. The biggest riders in the Circuit, Valentino Rossi, Loris Capirossi, Marco Melandri, Andrea Dovizioso, Alex De Angelis, Mattia Pasini, Marco Simoncelli, Roberto Tamburini and others, will be the stars to look out for!

All the Action from the San Marino track can be seen LIVE on TEN SPORTS on 5 and 6 September 2009.

Last Season on this much talked about San Marino circuit, it was a one/two finish for the FIAT Yamaha Team as Valentino Rossi finished first with team mate Jorge Lorenzo runners up!It is but a given that they will look to give repeat performances in the 2009 version of the Race.

The San Marino circuit is one of the most popular among the Moto GP fans and riders alike. Misano has hosted world superbike/supersport racing since 1991 and, officially, this is known as the San Marino round, although the circuit itself is on the border of the tiny principality and is technically in Italy.

Technically, the track has a relatively simple layout made up mostly of second and third gear bends. The exception is the long back straight that measures 565 m , which is preceded by a fast left hand corner. The circuit is also renowned for inconsistent grip levels. Sea salt can contaminate the track surface to make early morning laps slippery, while the often high temperatures will test the tyres and suspension towards the end of the race. Like most tracks, the San Marino venue has it?s share of drama with the riders accepting the challenge!

There was drama alright at the Brickyard track at the RED BULL INDIANAPOLIS GRAND PRIX. Fiat Yamaha?s Jorge Lorenzo got his third victory of 2009. Crowd favourite and 5 - time world Champion Valentino Rossi and Spanish rival Dani Pedrosa both crashed in the 28 lap Brickyard contest. In fact this was Rossi?s first DNF ( did not finish) of the season. Prior to Indianapolis, Valentino Rossi had a 50 point lead over team mate ? Lorenzo, but with the win, that difference between first and second has been halved. The 22-year-old Lorenzo has now halved Rossi advantage to 25 points (one race win) with five rounds and 125 points still undecided.

San Marino has a true blooded local in San Marinese driver Alex De Angelis! But all eyes will be on the two riders who battle it out in the front. The Fiat Yamaha team, does indeed have a lot to look forward to.
