Animated version of Andaz Apna Apna to be sans face of stars

MUMBAI: Contrary to the belief that the animated version of Raj Kumar Santoshi‘s 1994 hit Andaz Apna Apna would have the characters Amar and Prem look exactly like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, it has been decided that they won‘t look anything like the stars in question.

This decision has been taken by iRock, the company which is making the animation film. To avoid any legal hassles, the company decided to do away with the idea of creating identical faces.

Said iRock CEO, Siddharth Jain, "It‘s true we aren‘t making Aamir and Salman the faces of Amar and Prem. We really would‘ve liked to since the identification level of the characters with the audience would‘ve been substantially enhanced if we had the original faces. However, our legal department advised us against it. So regrettably we are keeping the spirit of the characters, but not their faces."

Besides, the cartoon version of Andaz Apna Apna would be exactly like the original.
