Chetan Anand’s Haqeeqat in colour

MUMBAI: Ketan Anand will soon re-release his father Chetan Anand‘s 1960 black and white classic Haqeeqat in colour.

Starring Dharmendra and Priya Rajvansh, the film is set against the sino-Indian 1952 war. A small platoon of Indian soldiers in the hilly terrain of Ladakh are considered dead but are rescued by Ladakhi tribesmen and by Capt. Bahadur Singh (Dharmendra). They are asked to retreat from their post (chowky) as the Chinese have surrounded them. Capt. Bahadur Singh and his girlf riend Angmo (Priya Rajvansh) die holding the Chinese at bay so that their comrades can retreat to safety.

The Indo-Australian collaboration has also been re-edited from three hours to two hours, 15 minutes and is slated for a mid-2011 release.

The film also starred Balraj Sahni, Vijay Anand, Jayant and Indrani Mukherjee among others.
