MUMBAI: Aamir Khan Productions‘ Delhi Belly, being made with English Dialogues, will also be released in a dubbed Hindi version.
This was revealed by Kiran Rao at the just concluded Ficci Frames 2011. While deliberating on her film Dhobi Ghat (Mumbai Diaries), Rao said that those who watched the Hindi version of her film were disappointed that the dubbing of English lines in Hindi did not work.
Her debut directorial venture had 40 per cent dialogues in English and was dubbed in Hindi for single screens and in the territories where English is not widely spoken.
Rao was not too sure of the commercial prospects of Indian films in English language and was looking forward to the box office performance of Delhi Belly in the domestic market before coming out with a definite opinion.
Delhi Belly is scheduled to release worldwide on 1 July and it is being said that it would have its world premiere in Festival de Cannes Film Festival that goes underway on 11 May.
