Karan Johar set to acquire remake rights of Heartbreaker

MUMBAI: Karan Johar is on course to acquire the rights of a French romantic comedy Heartbreaker that released last year.

Johar was recently in London to negotiate for the rights, although the pricing hasn`t been finalised as yet. Apparently, he`s keen to cast Shah Rukh as the main lead.

Heartbreaker is the story of Alex, his sister and her husband who operate a business designed to break relationships. The trio create complicated tricks to deceive women but while on the act with one woman, Alex falls in love with her.

Though Johar is currently busy with the pre-production for his next directorial venture Student Of The Year, the shooting of which is soon to begin, he is keen on acquiring the rights and remaking it. However, it is not certain whether he will direct it himself or let one of his trusted directors take charge.

Heartbreaker, directed by Pascal Chaumei, has stars Romain Duris, Vanessa Paradis, Julie Ferrier and Andrew Lincoln.
