Linc Pens ventures into filmmaking

MUMBAI: Linc Pens, know for its brands like Linc and Uni-ball pens in India, has ventured into filmmaking, having launched Shakal Pe Mat Ja (SPMJ) under the banner of Linc Entertainment in association with IpixMovies of Hrishitaa Bhatt.

The film is based on a true story of four young boys who are caught as suspected terrorists at the Delhi international airport while capturing an aircraft landing on their handy cams. The story then turns crazy when they are interrogated by the officials ensuring that every moment is a crazy laugh riot.

Says Linc Pen managing director Deepak Jalan, "While making films was altogether different from producing pens, the marketing and distribution was very similar. The knowledge and experience of marketing and distributing pens came in handy while chalking out plans of distribution and marketing of SPMJ."

The film, apart from featuring industry veterans like Saurabh Shukla and Raghubir Yadav, also boasts of talented newcomers including Aamna Sharif, Umang Jain, Shubh, Chitrak, Pratik and Harsh.

Avers Linc Entertainment director Saritaa Jalan,"We have always been passionate about movies and the art of filmmaking has always fascinated us. Starting with a script which has high entertainment value and great content was the perfect time to venture into film production. The key driver would be excellent cost effective films, reaching out to maximum audience through best marketing & distribution platforms."

Following the release of Shakal Pe Mat Ja on 23 September, Linc Entertainment intends to produce two to three films every year.
