Madhu Mantena bags Hindi remake rights of Telugu film Tagore

MUMBAI: Film producer Madhu Mantena, known for his films like Ghajini and Jhootha Hi Sahi, has purchased the rights of an old Telugu film, Tagore, for a whopping Rs 100 million.

The film that revolves around the anti-corruption theme was made way back in 2003. But suddenly after the Anna Hazare episode, there has been a high demand for its remake rights. It starred Chiranjeevi as an anti-corruption crusader who starts a vigilante organisation called ‘Anti-Corruption Force’.

Briefing about his acquiring the rights of Tagore, Mantena said,"I love the title and I love the message of the film. I think it‘s far more relevant today than it was when made seven years ago."

Aamir Khan is tipped to play the lead in the film.
