Mahadevan to make biopic on Gour Hari Das

MUMBAI: With plaudits and awards under his belt for his last film Mee Sindhtutai Sakpal, filmmaker Ananth Mahadevan has drawn a fascination for biopics.

Mahadevan has now teamed up with Siddhivinayak Cine Vision in the making of a biopic based on the life of Gour Hari Das, a freedom fighter from Orissa now living in Maharashtra. The film will narrate the story of a freedom fighter‘s uphill struggle to seek his legitimate right to be recognised as a freedom fighter.

The director will dramatise the true story of Das, who fought for four years to free the country from the British rule and 32 years in liberated India to prove he had done so for a freedom fighter‘s certificate.

The film, titled Gour Hari Dastaan, is set to go on floors in December this year. This will be Mahadevan‘s tenth feature after Mee Sindhtutai Sakpal, Red Alert: The War Within, Anamika; The Untold Story and Victoria No 203 among others.
