Mangesh Hadawale film to screen at Busan fest

MUMBAI: Mangesh Hadawale‘s Watch Indian Circus will have its world premiere in ‘New Currents‘ section at the upcoming Busan International Film Festival.

The film is about maternal devotion despite harsh reality of poverty.

Pune-based filmmaker Mangesh Hadawale previously made Tingya which won the Best Film at Mumbai International Film Festival (MAMI) in 2008.
 
New Currents is a competitive section that showcases works of rising new directors in Asian cinema. The themes for New Currents section this year are homecoming, alienation, family and growing.

A total of 13 projects have been selected from all over Asia for this section. The selection is made up of 11 world and two international premieres. Besides the Mangesh Hadawale film, other films that would be showcased in this section are August Drizzle, Choked, Damn Life,Here….or There?, I Carried You Home, Lost in the Mountain, The Mirror Never Lies, Mourning, Ni?o, The Passion of a Man Called Choe Che-u, Return to Burma and Starry Starry Night.

The 16th Busan International Film Festival will be held from October 6-14.
