NCSC wants to see Prakash Jha‘s film

MUMBAI: Prakash Jha‘s latest film Aarakshan has been caught in a cobweb with the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) asking the filmmaker to screen the film for them before its release.

It is believed that the Commission wants to make sure that the film does not misrepresent the constitutional stand and laws on reservation. Being based on the touchy issue of caste reservation, Aarakshan seems to have got the film into some kind of trouble.

However, Jha is in no mood to give in to the demands of the NCSC as he feels that he is not obliged to show his film to anybody apart from the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The filmmaker has said that if the Censor board feels that it wants to show the film to any other body, then it is their prerogative.

Aarakshan stars Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Manoj Bajpayee and Prateik in lead roles.

The film is scheduled for release on 12 August.
