NEW DELHI: ‘Children of Beach’, directed by Gavireddy Srinivas Reddy of Visakhapatnam, won the first prize while the second prize went to ‘Before you die’ by Pamarthei Shiva of Vijaywada at a ‘Short Film Contest’ held at Anakapelli in Andhra Pradesh.

The jury at the one-day festival held by the Anakepelli Film Society comprised Telugu cine actor Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Nandi award-winning director Sunil kumar Reddy and Federation of Film Societies of India Secretary and film critic Varala Aanand.

Consolation prizes went to ‘Humanity’ directed by Sathish Chandra (Jaggaiper); ‘Lemon & Spoon‘ directed by A. Laxmikanth (Hyderabad); ‘Gurudev‘ directed by A. Srinivas Rao (Hyderabad); and ‘Soul‘ directed by Rajiv (Hyderabad).

The first prize was of Rs 10,000; the second prize of Rs 5,000, and the consolation prizes were of Rs 1,000 each.
