Release of Kukunoor’s Mod delayed to 14 October

Ayesha Takia

MUMBAI: The release of director Nagesh Kukunoor‘s forthcoming film Mod will release on 14 October.

As per the earlier schedule, the film was to release on 30 September.

Mod, a romantic thriller, is based on the Taiwanese film, Keeping Watch. It is the story of a girl running her ancestral clock store, leading a monotonous life. She experiences love and romance for the first time when a man arrives as her neighbour, saying that he was her old schoolmate. Suddenly, he vanishes and the estranged girl goes in search of the man, only to learn that he had died years ago.

When he saw the Taiwanese film, Kukunoor was greatly touched by it and immediately decided to remake it for the Indian audiences by buying its rights. But the Indian version has been kept close to the original in terms of the plot and characters. Though the story remains the same, it has been more Indianised.

The film stars Ayesha Takia opposite Rannvijay Singh.
