MUMBAI: Toying with the idea of making a sequel to his fast-paced espionage Dus, Nitin Manmohan has finally decided to make the sequel tentatively titled Dus 2.

The only change at the top is that Samir Karnik has been selected to direct the sequel in place of Anubhav Sinha who directed the 2005 film.

It is being said that Manmohan zeroed in on Karnik when the latter was shooting for his film Yamla Pagla Deewana. Though the producer was on the look out for the right man who could helm the film, he was not able to finalise matters.

Then one day, the producer wondered aloud that he had got the plot to his new film. It didn’t take even five minutes for Karnik to come out with a story idea.

The sequel that begins shooting at year-end would have most of the original cast signing on, barring Shilpa Shetty, who it is said will be replaced by Deepika Padukone.

The fast-paced 2005 espionage thriller had starred Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Suniel Shetty, Zayed Khan, Pankaj Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty.
