UTV signs 3-film deal with Lingusamy

MUMBAI: UTV has signed a three-film deal with leading South Producer-Director N Lingusamy, known for his Tamil films like Aanandham, Run, Sandakozhi, Bheema and Paiyya.

The studio will co-produce, market and distribute these three Tamil films titled Vettai, Vazhakku Enn 18/9 and Kumki in association with the director‘s own banner, Thirrupathy Brothers Film Media.

The first film, Vazhukku Enn 18/9, will be written and directed by Balaji Sakthivel, who had earlier directed films like Kadhal and Kalloori. Slated for a September release, the film will have a new star cast.

Next in the line is the action packed entertainer Vettai that is scheduled to release in November this year. Directed by Lingusamy himself, the film stars Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Ashutosh Rana and Amala Paul.

2012 will see Kumki that features upcoming stars - Vikram Prabhu, son of popular actor Prabhu and grand son of Sivaji Ganesan.

With this association, UTV Motion Pictures has six releases lined up in Tamil cinema, beginning with Deivathirumagal that releases on 15 July followed by Cheran and Muran; three films with Thirrupathy Brothers; and lastly Mysskin‘s Mugamoodi starring Jiiva that will release in April/May next year.
