MUMBAI: The adaptation of 1973 cult film Zanjeer is back again. Director Apoorva Lakhia who has made some commendable films like Ek Ajnabee and Shootout at Lokhandwala is all set to remake Zanjeer with an exciting storyline.

Apoorva Lakhia‘s Zanjeer is a modern high octane flick that deals with the much talked about oil mafia issues of India. He wanted to make the film with current and real events in mind.

Ram Charan will be seen reviving the iconic character of an honest police officer ACP Vijay Khanna with the film set in today‘s times revolving around the notorious dealings of the oil mafia.

We have also learnt that slain ace journalist J-Dey‘s character is also woven in the film, he was the journalist who is known to have lost his life while he was investigating in this oil mafia issue.
