Russell Crowe keen on 'Les Miserables' opening in India

Tom Cruise

MUMBAI: Actor Russell Crowe will no doubt be delighted at the fact that the musical ‘Les Miserables‘ releases today in India. The film won three Golden Globe Awards and has been nominated for eight Oscar Awards.

A few days ago on Twitter Crowe wrote, "Will #LesMis be released in India? On what date? Never been to India.

"Despite the odd press I get there, fictional "e-mail Interviews" etc, it is a place that holds a great fascination for me."

Perhaps the distributors of the film in India missed a trick in not getting Crowe down to promote the film‘s release. It will be interesting to see how Indians react to a film that is mostly sung.

This is not the only film with Crowe that is releasing this week. The thriller ‘Broken City‘ where Crowe plays a Mayor also releases today. So Crowe‘s fans have a lot to look forward to.

In December 2011 Tom Cruise made a big splash in Mumbai when he came down to promote ‘Mission Impossible 4‘. More recently Ang Lee had come down to promote ‘Life of Pi‘ which was shot in India.
