MUMBAI: As the whole nation marked the spirit of freedom, on the eve of India?s 62nd Independence Day, special prime time programme on NewsX, Midnight Nations*, emerged as a clear winner. With the relative share of 26%, this special programme over shadowed the competition with a notable difference. Midnight Nations brought to the television screen a refreshingly different tone and content by taking a look at the two nations ? India and Pakistan.

The one-hour special, Midnight Nations, aired on 14th August 09 at 9 PM brought together experts and personalities from India and Pakistan to discuss the coexistence of the two nations since their independence. The studio based panel discussion saw participation from experts such as Vikram Sood (Ex RAW), G Parthasarthy and Saeed Naqvi, from India; Hamid Gul (former chief of ISI), Hamir Mir (Senior Journalist) and Film Maker Seema Sarwar from Pakistan.

Speaking on the achievement, the Company Spokesperson said: ?At NewsX, we believe that disruptive programming is what a viewer is looking for in the cluttered world of news channels. The high viewership ratings of specials like Midnight Nations establish the fact that NewsX is widely accepted for its editorial quality, fresh concepts and diverse content. While we have the audience at the centre of our programming, the ratings do indicate that good content always attracts good eye balls. .?

The channel also hosted a series of vignettes in three different segments- Historic Milestones, ?Freedom? and on Celebrity Bites. Another programme called Freedom Actually had some of the prominent guests like Vir Sanghvi, Salman Khurshid, Sanjeev Sanyal and Aijaz Ilmi discussing the true sense of freedom.
