MUMBAI: Further boosting up its programming line up, English news channel, NewsX is all set to launch its new weekly show,? India Endangered?. The show is a five part environmental series which seeks to bring to limelight, some of India?s threatened ecosystems and the pressing need of the hour to save them. Throughout the documentary series, the NewsX team criss crosses different parts of the country to investigate the depth of the problem and understand the ripple effect which the threat to the ecosystems can cause to the mankind . From India?s vast coastlines, to wildlife sanctuaries to national parks and jungles, the show brings forth the scary, ground reality.

The opening episode of ?India Endangered? showcases the sacred river Yamuna which which has been the lifeline of Delhi through the ages and which the government has disappointingly failed to clean up. Very tragically, Yamuna has become one of most polluted rivers of the world and has been dying a slow death. The show poses a question mark on the government and the common man for their insensitivity towards this gory reality.

The subsequent episodes of the show will talk about other critical issues such as India?s vanishing coastlines, tigers and elephants on the verge of extinction and the endangered city of Mumbai.

?India Endangered? will premiere on NewsX on World Environment Day; Saturday, 5th June@ 9.30 AM.
