Cartoon Network goes 'mobile' in Hong Kong

MUMBAI: In an effort to develop its presence in the digital landscape, Turner Broadcasting System has teamed up with Hong Kong-based mobile operator CSL to launch a 24-hour mobile TV channel in Hong Kong. The content will be available on CSL‘s 1O1O and one2free brands.

CSL chief marketing officer Aenil Premji says, "Hong Kong has the highest penetration of mobile phones in Asia and it only makes sense for us to lead the way in providing mobile TV services here."

The mobile channel will be commercial-free and feature popular titles including Kids Next Door, Courage the Cowardly Dog, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Camp Lazlo, Dexter‘s Laboratory and Foster‘s Home for Imaginary Friends.

"The partnership will allow viewers to be able to experience Cartoon Network‘s content at their convenience. The channel will be offered through CSL‘s ‘studio-on-demand‘ service," adds Turner International APac vice president (wireless

, interactive content development and distribution) Ringo Chan.
