Nickelodeon Africa expands to various platforms

MUMBAI: Kids channel Nickelodeon is set to be available on various platforms in Africa that include the internet and licensing and merchandising.

The channel will launch a Nickelodeon Africa website nickelodeonafrica.com, later this month. Targeted at kids between 2-14 years, the website will feature a host of interactive elements such as games and downloads, programming news and community areas.

Next on the anvil is the launch of Nickelodeon‘s mobile TV channel through the Vodacom network in Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania. The channel will host a range of Nickelodeon‘s most popular shows on a weekly basis.

Southern African licensing agency, Character Licensing & Marketing, will introduce consumer products licensing programmes for Spongebob, Squarepants and Dora The Explorer to expand the channel‘s reach in the region. The licensing programs will focus on toys, gifts, apparel, house-wares and home entertainment.
