MUMBAI: Toonz Animation India and South American studio Illusion Studios will co-produce a 90-minute 3D animated feature film, Gaturro.

The project cost of the movie is pegged at $6 million. The pre production of the feature has been complete. The production will commence at the production facility in Trivandrum within two weeks. The film will be released worldwide by 2010.

Based on the Argentine comic strip, Gaturro is about the fun love story of two cats - Gaturro and Agatha.

"This is a new challenge for us. Gaturro as a comic strip is an iconic character and it would demand greater care to give life to him in a different medium. But I am confident that we will be able to rise up to the expectations of our audience," said Toonz Animation India CEO P.Jayakumar.
