MUMBAI: ESPN Star Sports has announced a new appointment in its management team with David Shin taking on the role of senior vice president, commercial development with immediate effect.
 

Shin, to be based out of Singapore, will report directly to ESPN Star Sports managing director Rik Dovey. He would overlook region-wide responsibility for developing new commercial initiatives for ESPN Star Sports' networks across Asia.

Shin brings over 13 years of international industry experience to the position, having held key senior appointments with leading media and technology companies, including the Star Group.
 
 

Shin joined Star, Hong Kong as vice president, business development in 1999 where he oversaw business development activities for Hong Kong, Korea and the Philippines and spearheaded Star's preparation into the India DTH market.
