Jimmy Shergill is owner of Jallandhar Gullies T-10 Gully cricket team

MUMBAI: Resonable Communications, the organiser of T-10 Gully Cricket, has roped in actor Jimmy Shergill as team owner of Jalandhar Gullies. The acquisition of the team has cost Shergill Rs 4 million.

Shergill will own this team and will be responsible for marketing and promoting it. He will be involved from the grassroot level in all the aspects of the team from selection, grooming of the players to cheering them in the stadium etc.

Says Shergill, "I am delighted to be the owner of this wonderful team as it gives me an opportunity to connect with Jalandhar Gullies, as I am primarily from Punjab.

"I will be personally involved in all the aspects of my team right from the selection and appeal to corporates, institutions and society as a whole to extend their cooperation and support for this social cause."

Jalandhar Gullies had been a promising contending team in the Season 1 of
the tournament and had powerhouse performances by all its players.

Season 2 has had 25,000 entries from Punjab and 80,000 entries collectively from 16 cities. The tournament will be played amongst 896 players from 64 teams in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Panchkula, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Ballia, Patna, Gwalior, Lucknow, Kanpur, Allahabad, Surat, Nashik, Latur and Daman and will be telecast live on DD Sports with highlights on DD 1.

The tournament got underway on 26 September.
