Dennis Swanson named president of station operations for Fox Television Stations Group

MUMBAI: Dennis Swanson has been named president of Station Operations, Fox Television Stations Group. Swanson will assume his new role on 10 October.

In making the announcement, , Fox TV Stations Group CEO Jack Abernethy said, "Dennis is a top television executive with invaluable experience and tremendous knowledge of the television industry. I'm pleased to have him join my team."

Swanson said, "I look forward to working for Jack Abernethy to build the Fox stations to their full potential. Jack has a great track record and knows how to build value in television properties."

Swanson, who will report to Abernethy, will help manage the 35 Fox owned-and-operated stations across the country, including WNYW-TV and WWOR-TV in New York; KTTV-TV and KCOP-TV in Los Angeles; WFLD-TV and WPWR-TV in Chicago; WTXF-TV in Philadelphia; WFXT-TV in Boston; and WTTG-TV in Washington, D.C., stated an official release.

Before joining Fox Television Stations Group, Swanson was executive vice president and chief operating officer, Viacom Television Stations Group, where he oversaw operations of the division's television stations. Swanson previously served as president and general manager of WNBC-TV in New York, and was president of ABC Sports from 1986-1996. He was also president of ABC Daytime and ABC Children's Programming from 1991-1993, the release added.
