Ten Sports geared for Indian Oil Cup tri-series

MUMBAI: With the DD simulcast headache out of the way, Ten Sports is all set for the much-awaited Indian Oil Cup Tri series featuring India, Sri Lanka and the West Indies.

The commentators Ten has roped in for the series include Javagal Srinath, Ranjith Fernando, Ian Bishop and Ian Healy who will join channel ambassadors Sanjay Manjrekar and Rameez Raja in the commentary box.

Additionally, Ian Chappell, brother of new Indian coach Greg Chappell, will also to be behind the microphone as the latter takes on his first assignment with the Boys in Blue.

The entire telecast will be produced by the Ten Sports' in-house production team. This world feed will be given to the respective broadcasters. Apart from producing the live match feed for the triseries, Ten Sports will also produce a preview, review and halftime break show titled 'Straight Drive’, hosted by Manjrekar. This show will be aired an hour before and after the match.

The tournament will be India’s first under Chappell, as well as Sri Lanka’s first one-day international under Tom Moody. For India, this will be their first international outing after a gap of almost four months. In the Championship opener for the IndianOil Cup, India will take on hosts Sri Lanka at Dambulla on 30 July (Saturday). The three teams will play against each other twice with the top two teams going on to play the finals to be played under flood lights at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on 9 August. The first four matches of the series will be played at Dambulla stadium.
