Rajat Sharma's Hindi news channel India TV launching early next year

NEW DELHI: Television personality Rajat Sharma's Independent News Service will launch India TV, a 24-hour Hindi news channel, early next year.
Company sources say Euro RSCG has been mandated to undertake the marketing activities of the channel. The total project cost is Rs 1 billion and 26 per cent equity stake in India TV has been offloaded to two investors.
Sharma is reported to have yesterday issued 120-odd letters to his staff saying a Diwali gift was coming their way in the form of a news channel.
