Priya Mishra quits Star Plus for Disney

Priya Mishra,

MUMBAI: Star Plus' Priya Mishra has shifted loyalties to Disney.
Mishra, who held the post of group head executive producer in Star Plus, has joined Disney as a supervising producer.

She assumed office at Disney on 13 September.

Mishra had quietly put in her papers at Star Plus on 31 August and has maintained a very low profile since then.

When contacted Mishra said, "Yes I have resigned," but quickly added, "There was no friction between my higher-ups and I. The decision has been taken simply for better growth prospects."

Mishra was in charge of five Star Plus shows - Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand, Bhabhi, Kahiin To Hoga, Sanjivani - A Medical Boon and Dekho Magar Pyaar Se.

Mishra started in Star Plus as a senior producer in 2002, but was quickly elevated to executive producer followed soon after as group head executive producer. Prior to Star Plus, Mishra was an EP at Zee for a year.

"My new job sees me in a much more senior position. I will be involved with deciding and executing the content, especially on teenage programmes to begin with. I will be leading a team of 15 people. I have learnt a lot of things at Star Plus for which I shall always remain grateful," she informs.
