MUMBAI: How about making use of the internet to measure the success potential of television shows?

The US-based media planning group Initiative is doing the same. The research group has launched a tool that scans internet chat rooms and discussion groups to identify what new TV shows are being discussed out there.

According to reports, the research tool PropheSEE also tells you whether the feedback is positive or negative by installing a list of keywords. US broadcasters Fox and HBO have already employed PropheSEE's services for better results. PropheSEE can measure up to 40 programmes simultaneously.

Initiative launched PropheSEE in association with media consulting firm TVTracker.com and chat room monitor expert Trendum.
