Zee's Marathi language channel Alpha Marathi has set its sights on the international market. According to Zee chairman Subhash Chandra, the channel would 'hopefully' make it entry in the major international destinations within one year.
Revealing the plans during his speech at the Apla Alpha Marathi awards function, Chandra said the move is to cater to the Marathi expats."
Alpha Marathi business head Nitin Vaidya offers, "The demand for the channel outsid India has been overwhelming. So we think there is a strong market out there."
Alpha Marathi is already available in the Middle East and in South East Asia.
