This month the top two teams in test cricket Australia and South Africa will do battle on Star Sports to see which team is the best.
For Australian veteran captain Steve Waugh this in some ways represents the final frontier. If the Aussies triumph it will firmly establish its supremacy among the test playing nations.
Australia has the home advantage. Expect the crowd to be hostile towards Shaun Pollock and company in view of the recent ICC controversy.
Psychologically however the Australians may be slightly shaken up considering the fact that they just about staved off defeat at the hands of neighbours New Zealand (thanks to some dubious umpiring decisions) while South Africa are in a positive frame of mind having beaten India quite comprehensively.
Each days play starts early in the morning at 5:57 am and finishes at 1 PM The first test will be played at Adelaide from 14-18 December. The boxing day test match takes place at Melbourne from 26-30 December.
Interestingly the Super Selector winner of the November contest will be seen commentating on the match proceedings. The third Test takes place in Sydney from 2 to 6 January 2002.
