MUMBAI: When the new TRAI tariff order came into the picture, DTH operators started churning out various packs to ensure customers don’t cut off their connections. The move didn’t go down well with customers. Now, Tata Sky has removed the lock-in period condition.
According to a report by TelecomTalk, all lock-in periods on channels and packs have been removed. Earlier, subscribers could not make any changes to their channels until the lock-in period was over. Now, subscribers can easily add or remove both single channels and broadcaster packs.
The only place where it retained this was the one day lock-in policy for its service channels. Only Tata Sky Bollywood has a 30-day lock-in period.
Earlier this month, Dish TV too had introduced a lock-in period which it subsequently waived off.
